Julian was a good laugh-he made SCD so much more enjoyable in series 2, and you could see that Erin enjoyed working with him

What about Quentin Wilson-does he get an invite to perform again
Same with Dennis Taylor, but I don't think I recognise the pro that danced with him... |

I can tell you to the best of my knowledge Aled WON'T be doing dancing on SCD .
If I here anything to the contrary I will post it . Nor will he be on the SCD tour . |

Quentin danced with Hazel Newberry in series 2 and was knocked out first.
Dennis was partnered by Isabelah Hannah in series 3 |

There is a tour planned for January/February next year, although it is not finalised yet, hopefully taking in major arenas around the country. Most of the current pros would be involved.

Do we definately know it is being pre-recorded?
In the states they have the results show on a different night (but still live) because of the different time zones otherwise it would be difficult to manage the voting. I've noticed before the American Idol lines are open to 12am. Definitely will be pre-recorded and a really bad idea altogether |

He was (IMO) a complete joy to watch and I do think thta if SCd becomes too competitve it could loose some of that charm

The judges final vote is a good idea that I mentioned last year after the Spoony debacle.
Hopefully, it will negate the cult of personality that this board helps fuel, leading to tactical voting, vote stuffing/block voting and sympathy votes. The contest becomes a contest about dance, not about your favourite dancer, celebrity, who you fancy, who you think is a bitch, etc... Whilst I am not too keen on a pre-record and the risk of leaks, the result is the result, whether you read the result on a forum, read in a paper or watch the show. The base emotional reponse is the same. If you are a true fan (and in this age of PVR/Sky Plus), there is no reason to miss the second show and the other content of the show should encourage viewing even without the result. Ok, you may not be moved as much seeing on a forum compared to watching the show but if you invest in the show, you will watch again. I doubt the papers would be able to leak it as the result show may be after they have gone to press and you can always avoid the forum for 24 hours or not read the spoilers. There is more to life than SCD and the internet, people! I imagine that the results show doesn't get anywhere near the ratings of the first show for the first few weeks. By splitting it out, the Beeb gets a strong lead in on Sunday evenings, with ever increasing ratings the nearer we reach the final. I would imagine the final would switch to the Saturday night to avoid the result leaking because in the end, that is the most important result on the show: who wins. The news I would like to hear would be an end to voting during the week, to further negate the personality influence. There have been posts in the past of people voting 50 times in the week before the show. How can that be right and don't try to play the "it's for charity" card: the same would happen if the profits lined the coffers of the TV company, a la X-Factor. I don't see that show suffering for a lack of voting due to a small voting window or non-charity profits! As a final thought, perhaps the change is to give more time to check voting pattterns and adjudicate phone votes. The BBC has to be absolutely clean and spot on with this stuff now. It will mean there is extra time to check the votes and be sure that nothing dodgy is going on. Stopping "in the week" voting will ensure this is the case, as good a reason as any to do it. Don't forget the Steps/Belle and Sebastian issue at the Brits a few years back. Back and ready for the new series HCG |

No one is denying that in the past mediocre dancers have been kept in over better ones, but the problem is that people are worried that the judges are not without prejudice either. If I felt that the judges would be impartial I would have less of an issue with the danceoff, the problem is that they aren't. Example, Craig last year justifying giving Emma high marks in foxtrot even though she did no heel leads - she smiled a lot though. That's no basis for keeping someone in a dance contest.
Only time will tell on the above but just to put in my own tuppence worth,I have to say, not at all keen on the Sunday results show idea. |

I think it is entirely down to trying to grab a good audience for that slot on a Sunday .
