"In a change to the format, the judges will make the final decision on who will leave the competition on Sundays."

I'm happy with this change....at least there will only be deserving finalists who get there based on merits not by mere popularity.

Seeing that the judges can't even agree on the merits of a single dance, how can they agree on a decision regarding who leaves?

Well, I thought pretty much every time after a dance there was a verbal punch up between them which led to Brendan last year......

Well ,you often get Len & Bruno shouting each other down, in fact all of them shouting each other down ~ one judge's crappy arms are anothers "stylistic decision".

And Craig starts most of his commentaries with "well I'm afraid I have to disagree with [insert name of any or all of the other judges]..."

And at least you had a rest from it in the Results show and now you'll get even more of it.

What with the judges having more sway, I wonder if we'll see less of the biting back by the contestants and pros? I know the judges are ridiculous at times, but I got heartily sick last year when, by the end, almost every comment was met with back-chat ~ it got very boring very quickly.

Got bored with judges full stop as well as back chat.

Think there's too much about them as it is...feel sorry for the celebs who often get caught in the middle and all they're trying to do is dance.

By allowing the general public any vote it will only ever be a popularity contest, I know what I enjoy watching but I am in no way qualified to judge.

For me this idea of a dance off will only work if the judges make their choice purely on that particular dace. Not previous dances, or how good one dancer is over another, but who performs best in that particular dance off. I don't care if couple X only got 10 points in the main show, and couple Y got 30 points and is the judges favourite, if couple X performs better that is the couple who should go through into the next weeks show.

I don't think its fair that the judges get to ''judge'' twice. I just truly hope their wont be any messing around and when the points are even the one with the higher public vote goes through to the nest week.

My only major quibble is that there needs to be 5 judges as I don't think the 4 will agree together on who should stay and who should go, they couldn't agree on the colour of green grass half the time.

Its Strictly Come Dancing, a light entertainment programme for the viewing public - its not The World Championships, or any other Dance event crucial to the dance world. I do enjoy listening to and learning interesting info re dances from the judges but I feel its essential to have the public involved in the elimination decisions, not just the judges.

Humph - this is all mega pants . Like the ones I wear

Apparently if the judges vote is split Len gets the casting vote.

LOL.

Think in the midst of all this the poor celebrities get overlooked!

It's about them, not the judges egos and them having the right to decide who goes.

And I might want somebody who's not necessarily the best technical dancer but who's fun and entertaining to watch stay another week, not necessarily a better but perhaps more boring one to stay.

I can only just tolerate that, but it's still leaving the public out.

But that is totally wrong supposition . It doesn't mean that at all .
The judges will decide which of the bottom two will go, the public chose the bottom 2 .
They may well have another situation such as picking between Emma and Louisa . The best dancers may well not get through on the public vote and have to dance again . We know that happens

Just a thought: if the judges are to be given more input into the result, how about making sure that they are all QUALIFIED to juge ballroom and latin?
Len is the only Ballroom judge , Karen Hardy is qualified
The others are choreographers .

I am so upset about this change to the results show, some of us are scarred from the last dreaded dance-off but now to have one every week but even worse with the judges deciding who goes is just awful

And I agree about the excitement levels going down due to pre-recording. I just don't get it, I mean they are all there anyway filming it so they may aswell broadcast the bloody thing live

I hope the BBC sees sense and changes their plans but they obviously aren't

No No No!!!!

With the obvious bias the judges had for Emma last year they'd have voted for her if she fell flat on her face and knocked her partner over.... the same with Zoe the year before!

If they get a casting vote in a dance off - then they shouldn't get to score the dances - this way they get 2 bites of the cherry and its so unfair. Let the publlic vote and THEN the judges decide between the bottom 2!

According to BBC news it is in the interests of providing decent family entertainment on Sunday evenings.

I guess giving the results on their own wouldn't have made enough of a show so they've added in this dance off rubbish.

Not if the judges' markings last year are anything to go on. On more than one occasion they were definitely biased.

WHY don't they the BBC leave the show alone. If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it.

First we had the ridiculous dance off last year, despite the fact that one couple had more public votes then the other.
Now I believe they are copying the Americans with the results on a Sunday. I bet they will also copy the American marking, with Len and Bruno dishing out 9's and 10's like smarties.

Why does everthing have to be dumbed down?
