I am hoping that SOMEONE at the BBC is going to read this realise every single one of us hates the idea and scrap it

Any chance that might happen??

Do you have a link to this, I'd like to read it?

I can't see where it says in the press release that it will be pre-recorded. Doesn't say its live either though!

I wonder if this is to give time for extra verification for the votes being counted (the sunday night not the judges deciding!)

True, but if the only effect of voting is money to charity (no effect on the outcome), it is much more effective to give the money directly to CIN. With gift aid they get more than you give, with SCD they get less than half.

I'm half thinking the opposite- not that I have any idea how good she will be, or if there will be any favouritism... but if it does happen that way, they might as well hand Kelly a place in the final, but she won't win. As soon as the public have their say, she'll be knocked out- we have seen that happen with Zoe and Emma.

why the heck is it pre-recorded.. they've basically ruined the show for us!! how about all the audience who are there, obviously there gonna leak the info on whos out on forums and the whole excitement buzz will be lost

According to Woman mag Karen asked for double what she got last year! I don't think it's true, but she is quoted as saying she got a new agent. The Sun reports they are all being paid the same though.

I don't really trust any of these articles, but I do think it's much more likely they all get the same. How would you decide who was good value for money?

Ok well surely if it was live would tickets not have been available for sunday as well as sat???

Tickets were not advertised for a Sunday night show so surely the format is going to stay the same as it has been for the other Strictly series but they will just be showing the results show on the Sunday but its recorded on the Sat night?

I don't mind it as we choose the bottom two and I actually think that the judges having the final say is a good thing. However, as it appears that the sunday show is going to be pre-recorded it kind of runs the results as I'm sure we will find out before the show. Also, it removes the tension.

It says the lines close one hour after the Saturday show has finished which i guess leads us to believe that it will be pre-recorded that Saturday evening. I don't think anyone has been offered tickets to be in a Sunday audience either.

You could be right. It doesn't say either way in the press release or in the article on DS.

Yep, i get that ~ I was just pointing out that voting doesn't line the pockets of the bbc, as a previous poster suggested.

Can't see how it can be as Len and Bruno need to be in LA on mon for DWTS.

Having the results on a Sunday is silly. When they do that on Dancing with the Stars its about the time differences more than anything, as well as the amount of votes cast and both shows are live. Why bother recording it one day and showing it another, why cant they just show it live on the same day like always, and just make it a longer show to include this stupid dance off. I could easily deal with a dance off if it was all on a Saturday.

Can't see how that would make a difference. They can fly on sunday night/monday morning.

Good point - to give the BBC the benefit of the doubt maybe they did want the Sunday show to be live but as you say Bruno and Len need to be in LA for the DWTS for Monday which is almost impossible.

Because the flight is about 9hours and they have to be in for hair and makeup and rehersals monday morning.

As one who has watched the show from series one, and has talked to family about this news today who all love 'strictly' and in the vain hope the BBC do take our opinions on board here as we know they read it...the overwhelming 100% opinion of everyone I know is.....

THIS IDEA IS COMPLETE AND UTTER PANTS!!!!!

Do what I did everyone. Email the BBC and tell them what you think. The more mail they get the more likely they are to listen.

Karen has the same agent as Mark Ramprakash
It certainly USED to be the case that the pros got about £13 k, the celebrities about £25k , the judges £ 13 k , Bruce , £110k, Claudia £ 50 K and I think Tess had more than Claudia but less than Bruce .
I think the pros and celebrities should receive the same but with that amount on a sliding scale for the celebrity dancers depending on the stage they reach .

A live Sunday should would depend on the studio being available and would also mean none of the couples , pro or celebrity , would have any time off in the week .
They are there all day Saturday for the evening shows so for a live show again on the Sunday that wouldbe similar .

The whole thing is ludricous , I could accept , grudgingly , very grudgingly , the judges choosing , will never be happy about a dance off , and abhor the whole idea of it waiting til Sunday to be announced .

If you read the article below it looks like Craig has already made up his mind on who is his favourite this year. Although I already knew it would probably be Kelly as her fiance Billy Zane starred in a dance play last year, and the choreographer for the production was Craig.

My main concern for this new result show arrangement is Strictly Come Dancing is promoted as being a family show and we are encouraged to vote for our favourites...how can we vote when the judges can easily get our favorites kicked off the show for the sake of their favourites?!

Yes please can I have the address. I'm not so opposed as others, BUT if its pre-recorded (as I'm sure its going to have to be) there is no way that the majority of us are not going to find out who goes, and thats plain silly!

I think you'd either have to wait for them to finish constructing the BBC page for SCD so there is a "contact us" option, or use the general complaints page here

Maybe someone should send a link to this thread?
