Planet 3 dedicated button
My son as broken his Lg U400 that is on a Three £15 675 contract and is not insured
![]() I have taken his Sim and put it into an old K800i 02 contract phone that as been upgraded As the 02 don't lock their contract phones , or do they ? It works perfectly Two questions , will Three or 02 know or care which sim is been used in which phone And as its an 02 it doesn't have the planet 3 dedicated button to check his balances , is it possible to allocate a key to connect to Planet 3 or any easy way to check balance by dialling a certain number or even dedicating a key to accept this shortcut It is registered at "My Three" so his balance can be checked online if need be , but he wanted a simpler method without the need for computer access Thanks |

Can't help fully as I have an outgoing restriction (til I pay the bill) just now. But I assume you can get online with the phone. If so do a search for my3 (google) and bookmark the site. Mine already had it as a bookmark when I got my phone.

You will need to get the wap and MMS settings sent to your phone from the SE site.
http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?...te=ps1&zone=ps Or if you phone three they will send them. This will also set the wap homepage, which is presumably planet 3. Then it's just a matter of accessing this page, on nokias you just hold down '0' don't know about SE. In the phone's set up you can presumably sonfigure what some of the buttons do from standby, if you just set one to 'internet' or 'wap' or whatever SE call it that'll work. |

" Three" from the network selector drop down . Maybe its because the K 800i is a recent new addition to Three and on the cheap £15 / £20 for life tariffs Reckon I'll need to contact Three for them to send info to the phone Cheers |

The K800i has been available for 12 months on 3!

I have seen a few google webpages about settings that relate to different phones The K800i must be only a recent addition to the cheaper three tariffs , if it had been available in May my son would have chosen it , instead he went for the LG U400 , unfortunately. |

I rang Three they are not interested to help I found some settings on the www for setting up the Samsung Z500 I was wondering if they would be same or similar these are the settings Quote:
After hours of playing, I've found settings that work with THREE that allow you access to THREE's services (as if you pressed the Triangle button on a THREE phone) and MMS on THREE with the Z500. Anyone help , before I start messing with settings Menu-Settings-Connectivity-Connections Options-New Set Name - Three Access Name - three.co.uk Auth type - None Protocol - HTTP Home URL - http://mobile.three.co.uk/hb/vtb/HutchKey Proxy address - 0.0.0.0 Port - 8799 Linger time - 3000 SAVE Still in connections: Options-New Set Name - Three MMS Access name - three.co.uk Auth type - None Protocol - WAP Home URL - http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc Gateway address - 217.171.129.2 Secure connection - Off Linger time - 3000 SAVE Menu-Internet-Network Settings Choose Three from the list Menu-Messages-Settings-Multimedia message-MMS profiles Choose Three MMS from the list Now, when you connect to the Internet from your Z500 you will be presented with Three's Today screen as normal. Choose Go To Services and you will get all Three's services as usual. Note, though, that some pages won't display properly - some banners and images are missing, but the content is still available. Most pages work perfectly OK though. You can now also send and receive MMS and Video messages. Craig. I am not bothered about a button for planet 3 just access to mms and www I can't be the only person to put a 3 Sim into an 02 unlocked phone , can I ? |

Hiya
The URL above is for the SE Corporate site - try this one instead as it's direct to the UK site and it seems to list 3 as a mobile provider. http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?...s1_1&pid=10407 Let us know how you go. Cheers Alan |

Under the default SE K800i SW the two soft keys under the screen are Calls (L) and Menu (R). There is however a web key on the left of the keypad just below and to the side of the left softkey and above and to the left of the back button (the backwards arrow) - it should by default load the browser and the homepage.
Do you have the standard SE firmware? If it's an O2 one you should do as they're really good at only minimally branding their mobiles (as opposed to the rubbish that many of the others, esp. Orange, put on their phones). Cheers Alan |
