Orange 3G - any good?

Is Orange's 3G service any good?

Can you do sort of the same things as with 3's network?

I'm not interested in video calling but I'd like to watch football highlights and watch some TV on my mobile etc.

Yes they have all that available plus music downloads etc etc.

You don't actually need 3G for most of these services!!

Sadly Orange are not great for data bundles and are still in the dark ages with a 4MB for £4 deal!! Still they give you 1 GB per month for the 1st 2 months for free!!

I'm looking for a new PAYG phone and I'm thinking about getting the Sony Ericsson K800i on Orange because you can't get it on PAYG on the other 3G network (Three).

I like the look of 25MB for £1 a day on PAYG.

the data packages are crap, but the quality of the data service is absolutely falseless in my experience - really good, really fast, good coverage.

The PAYG data add-on's are pretty good value and as was said above the orange 3G service is excellent and data (where i have used it) is very fast and reliable.

My post above, obvious was meant to say:

Good to hear some positive things about Orange.

I received a 3G phone recently and I'm on a two months free trial of unlimited evening and weekend data calls with a £1.50 a day cap. Even if I don't pay the £5 a month for the evening and weekend package after the trial is over, I still keep the £1.50 a day cap.

I don't know how that compares to other networks because I've never bothered to check, but it suits me.
