Can anyone give me some advice/help with the best type of Wireless scart sender to buy.

I am on sky + and want to move my tv to the other side of my lounge but dont want to have the sky wires going across the room and also they are not long enough. Therefore i have been looking at these wireless TV links/scart sender, but im not really sure how well they work and if they are any good.

Is anyone currently using anything similar, and can anyone recommend a good set to buy?

Something along the line of this is what im after:

Cheers

The quality will be very poor compared to a direct RGB scart connection. I'd recommend that you extend (or replace) the dish leads, the white twin shotgun cables are usually the least intrusive.

Hmmm seems there is niche in the market for something better . Can see no reason why it couldn't be achieved as bandwidth should not be a restriction given the frequencies used and short ranges involved.

I need something to "broadcast" a second VM box around the house.

The OP will also have to provide some sort of phone extension to his new location, could be Dect I suppose though/

It's certainly technically possible, for example a wireless network connection (802.11g, not 802.11b that will be too slow) would be ok. It's just a matter of the kit being produced. There may be kit available that will send good quality video around the house, I don't know. These cheap video sender don't have decent quality but it may be good enough for some people.

The ideal would have been for all kit to be designed with networking capability built in but history has decided otherwise.

We run a Philips SLV5400 sending video to 2 extra locations. Video quality is good, but I agree with bobcar..

If the move in the lounge is going to be permanent, it would be cheaper to get your local Sky installer back to run new cables from your dish to the new location, and check the signal/dish alignment at the same time - think I paid ~£40 when I had this done in a previous house.

From reading reviews looks like wireless scart sender isnt an option, as i have a wireless network and so do the other flats in my block.
Im thinking of getting a 15m Scart lead and just trailing this to the tv. Can any recommend a good value for money scart lead.

If you're going to have a lead anyway then it makes more sense to extend the dish cables than use a long SCART.

The only problem with that is i will need to trail 2 leads across the room rather than one, i need to go up and over a door way with the wire aswell.

If you use shotgun cable then it only looks like one.

When I had to feed the cable through the house I put white trunking across the ceiling, doesn't sound great but it looks a lot better than cables round doorways etc.

Thanks for the advice, Can you recommend a good place to get the shotgun cable as this does seem like the best way to do it. I have seen some on ebay is this the right stuff to get?

I was planning on using some wire trunking for the cables as i think that it keeps things a lot neater and is reasonably cheap.

That's the stuff, I've had a quick look around and white shotgun cable is no longer generally sold. The only thing with that sale is it doesn't include the F connectors you will need.

If you're going to trunk it then you might as well go with single cables and use 2 of them, the quality will be better that way so more chance of it working ok.

This site has all the bits, you might find cheaper by looking around. http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page8.htm
