Now the new series is about to start isn't it a good idea to clear out those threads for previous years contestants or put them in a separate area?

Alot of the "old" threads are still very very active - look at Ballroom Bill for example so no bad idea IMO

Active and relevant as my party report shows .

Its info about the reigning winner who also happens to be appearing this year and partnered Bill Turnbull in her first SCD

You really don't need to jusitfy yourselves to posters who come on and start meaningless threads all over before they've said boo to a goose!

If they weren't still active they'd slip down the board quite naturally, so no need for others to complain.

Whilst this is a moan thread, can I just moan about people who start threads about contestants when there is already an existing thread for that contestant if only they'd spend 2 seconds looking!

You are perfectly right La Rhumba.
Thankyou

Last comment on this thread from me and maybe it will slip down the board naturally

No I don't agree - if they aren't popular they will slip down - if you don't like the threads don't read them - sorry if that sounds rude But I fully support the threads you question

Yeah theres no harm in the older threads, its not like theres lots of them only acouple with dedicated posters who like to keep them alive... Just ignore them if you don't like them...

Agree with all of this.

Anyway the title of this DS forum is "Strictly Come Dancing" not Strictly Come Dancing 2006 or 2007 or any other year.

Ridiculous. Unused threads fall away. Don't like them - don't use them. If everyone agrees with you they'll be gone by midnight.

Couldn't agree with you more LL, and everyone else who's posted on here.

If you're not interested in a thread or don't like the person its about then don't read it!

I didn't say they were not active, but maybe they should be put in an area for previous series and clear the way for lots of discussion on the new contestants in SCD,not newreaders and cricket players who are no longer dancing

That's quite harsh and pretentious

We were all new posters at some point !

Besides, it's not such a bad idea to have a specific forum for each current series and the others held elsewhere as we move to the next one

live and let live - if you don't like a thread then don't read it - the fact that the threads dedicated to previous SCD contestants just shows how popular SCD is and if you look at the number of posts these contestants remain as popular as ever - as I am sure the contestants of this series will be

I'm not arguing their popularity...... I post in many of them myself and I'm sure I'd still post in them if they were on another forum page ......but I think the tone of La Rhumba's post was uncalled for.

Really? Well I think your 2 directed at me was "uncalled for".

I'm wondering why *you* should take offfence when the actual OP didn't and was quite happy to give a in reply.

There was no nasty tone in anything that was said in this thread till you showed up actually. There's always somebody in this forum who has to put a spanner in the works.

How incredibly rude you are.

Keep it up and I shall alert Admin. What exactly you have to be so over God knows!? Perhaps someone else pointing out that you were trying to start an argument over absolutely nothing maybe? Oh, and BTW you need to get over yourself woman!

End of? End of what? It's all a storm in a teacup that *you* started by yourself!

O.K let's agree to differ on the subject and leave it there. I love the old threads and it's nice to re-read them to see how previous series of SCD evolved and how the celebs progressed.

If you don't like or agree with the thread don't read it
