I certainly agree about Ramprakash - he truly looked like he was enjoying it. I think with Matt - who I do like by the way - it was a challenge and he approached it in a fairly clinical way, but I'm not sure he ever really enjoyed it.

They must have done something originally, i.e. good choreography, interesting interactions with their partners, amazing dancing, to have gained the fan base that they now have.

It's all down to your personal interpretation though isn't it? I doubt Matt's success was down to Lilia's fanbase entirely. Some of his dancing was amazing. Maybe you'd have seen it differently with a different pro...who knows.

Apart from his ballroom???
Seriously, IMHO, he was the best ballroom dancer to appear on the show.... shame the Latin (the more popular and 'showy' discipline) didn't quite match.

I think Mark and Matt were exact opposites dancing-wise last year:

- marked improvement in one discipline, but not quite reaching great standard (although Matt's Latin was worse than Mark's Ballroom, to start with at least),

- whilst pretty talented in the other.

I think they look like a great bunch this year. Can't wait to see the dances (especially the Paso - love it!)

I just wish we were watching all the couples next saturday instead of just the men! But I suppose then, it would be a 3 hour show.....although I wouldn't mind

I think everybody forgets about Claire Sweeney, because she left so early. She was by far the best. IMO the only one of them in Series 1 who could REALLY dance, be it Latin, Standard, whatever. She had the performance factor which Natasha didn't, and all of her movements were so fluid, so complete. Total joy to watch in every dance. Definitely my winner (that is, after Chris Parker)!

Are the celebrities really complaining already?

If that story's true, they should get a grip.

To be honest - I very much doubt - other then Matt who said that Kelly was everywhere - I think this is media hype to generate interest in the show - I think the others are too busy to worry about Kelly

Yeah, all matt said was that whenever he opens a newpaper she's in it with a skimpy outfit. They well over exaggerated what he said there.

He probably didn't even mean it, just said it tongue in cheek I expect

If Kelly's publicist is guilty of the ubiquitous coverage, then he is doing her no favours. The British public get fed up of hype - and vote accordingly.

It's probablly just because Kelly publicist is more 'practiced' because she is in the media far more than the other contestants. I feel sorry for her because I'm sure its not her doing and most of the time her picture is used to generate publicity for the show as a whole.

I don't believe that.

The line "Kelly will benefit from being paired with Brendan Cole, a previous winner."

Well what about Brian he has got the reigning champion.

Yes, I've just said on a different thread that some newspapers have been known to misreport someone's words.

A similar thing happened last year with Emma Bunton, didn't it? People were having a go at her before the show even started. I must admit I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of a Spice Girl being in it but I thought she came over as a nice girl in the end.

Well quite. I hope it is just the media stirring things up, can't be doing with pettiness like that if it is true. I'll choose to believe it isn't.

I'm actually a lot more excited about seeing the guys than the girls: I haven't found myself particularly drawn to any of the female contestants this year-- maybe it's just my initial impression, but they all seem a bit...blah. Of course, I am basing this on three seconds or so of footage, so I'm sure it'll all change pretty soon...

Roll on Saturday, I say!

He ought to read a different newspaper then. Not a single pic of her in the one I read And he ought to stop whingeing. Not a good look Matt.

I think Brian might be quite good, I was surprised to hear comments that he may be first out. I also think Letitia will be good.

I suspect Willie Thorne will be ... the least accomplished. But it is impossible to tell when you've barely seen them dance a step.

I'm so excited this year (even more than last year!!) The contestants and pairings are great! I hope Willie doesn't go out first though cos a) would be too predictable and b) I like Erin c) Mr Quirks will win a tenner off me!!

Nice to see you all again xxxxxxxxx
