it kinda explains why brendan got so protective of her and angry at the judges if he knew all this was going on

Oh poor Kelly,my thoughts are with her & her family.
I thought there would be a genuine reason why she couldn't train much last week & she was so brave to carry on.
That would be why Brendan defended her & got angry, rightly so.

My Dad died of cancer too. Take care Kelly.

Also, I have to say I expect Brendan will be an absolute tower of strength for her now.

You're right, I should have said that in my original post

I am surprised that Billy Zane hasn't been seen recently, if my dad was ill I would need my partner supporting me. Poor Kelly this is really sad. I'm not a particular fan but this explains a lot. I hope she pulls through.

I believe he's filming and I'm sure he'd be here if he could but I guess the film has a certain number of weeks to film in and nothing gets in the way (and I am only guessing at that)

I'm very sorry to hear about Kelly's dad. A lot may be explained by that, I feel. Puts much into perspective too.

The ITT clip of Brendan's part for Kelly made me think: in all the years Kelly's been famous, there's been very little in the press about her family. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of her mom & I had no idea what she looked like.

They haven't wanted to be in the media eye & have largely succeeded; and so this from the Sun article makes sense:
Quote:
“Last night, Kelly’s spokesman said: “Kelly Brook’s dad, Kenneth, passed away peacefully at home on Monday evening following a long battle with cancer, aged 57.

“Kelly would like to take this opportunity to thank the media for respecting her family’s privacy over this personal matter during recent weeks and asks that they continue to do at this difficult time.

“Kelly will continue to honour her work committments to the best of her abilities as her father would have wanted.” ”

I hope Kelly continues with SCD. I think it would be good for her. But she may need to spend time with her family, and naturally I'll respect whatever decision she makes.

I haven't had a chance to post since I heard - sorry to see Kelly go out (though I think is was probably a wise decision with two dances to learn), brave of her to try and go on though and to try and train/dance this week even though it didn't work out.

Just popping in to say how sorry I'm for Kelly, and that I think that the show won't be the same without her. Actually I have the highest respect for her for dealing with the nasty comments last week, and for taking it on her chin so well. I know I wouldn't have been able to.

The fact that she didn't even mention her father as an excuse, is a testiment to her character.

of course she'll 'pull through' - what do you think she's going to do?

Yes, the press love her. She was the single greatest draw for this years show from a "hype" perspective.

Unfortunately a sense of right and wrong and of respect are not the greatest strengths of the British tabloid press.
