What £500-£600 LCD for watching football ?
title says it all really.
I'm looking at either 32 or 37, and its really important that i don't have motion blur watching SD football as i don't intend to upgrade to sky HD until the £10 charge goes.. Can you help Ta Gerry |

If you could stretch to £700 the Panny 37PX70 plasma is very good for football, better than any LCD imho though some will disagree with that.
With LCDs the response time is very important for football and the cheaper brands can be poor here as they tend to be older technology, your best bet may be to watch some LCDs with football playing and make your choice from that. If your old TV is a decent size (say 32") you may be better sticking with that for a while, what's your viewing distance? |

don't reall want to go past £600. I'm about 8ft away. Had read that lcd's were problematic for fast action but wasn't sure if technonlogy had solved it yet ?

Can you help Ta Gerry like others have said 37" PX70 plasma. Will beat any LCD hands town on processing an SD picture especially football. Dal |

I thought the standard response to this question was the Panasonic Viera TX-32LXD70 which can be bought for around £590? That's what I keep reading everywhere anyway

Panasonic
Just bought the panasonic TX32LXD 70 after much research and after being let down by Tevion from ALDI. It's fantastic!
Go and get one now. Best price I've seen so far is on the Dixons web site. |

.Also when watching sports you'll need to play with the display settings etc to get it right (sharpness, noise-reduction, etc), I found that made quite a difference. Watching DVD through component is excellent as well of course. |

I would reccommend the panny 32 inch lcd too - i have the 26 inch version in the bedroom and most sports inc football look great and that just through the freeview reception
100htz picture will reduce motion blur, if you have a John leiws store near you - try to get them to price match a retailer who has an actual physical store - i price matched empire direct who actually have stores in the uk - so saved £200 + got the free 5 year warranty. |
