Just looking on Sky Text (page 174) and they say Billie Piper is close to agreeing a deal to return in a 3 parter next year.

It says the source is the News of the World (so most likely nonsense) but anyway what does everyone think?

Personally I would say move on. Rose is in the past and should stay there

i wouldn't mind the doctor crossing paths with an older rose, not a billie played one

i don't think she'll appear in season 4 however the part about her return in a 3 parter got me thinking.

according to this report

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/cult/a75...ntil-2010.html

there are 3 specials planned for 2009, so perhaps this is what the NoTW could be specualting on.

However i'll still call this as nonsense

She shouldn't return. Her goodbye with Tennant was sickening enough. For her to return after that would undermine the whole show. If she did come back it should be with Eccleston somehow.

The thing is she was sent to a parallel dimension following the battle of Canary Wharf in, what 2006?

So in theory the Doctor could encounter Rose any time between her birth and 2006. Just like Captain Jack said he had been to her estate and watched her now and again whilst waiting for the Doctor to turn up.

Sure it creates a problem with her not recognising the Doctor or the TARDIS when she later encounters them but I'm sure the script could get around that somehow.

Not that I want her back mind, but it wouldn't be impossible.

2007.

If they are only talking about it with Billie now (if there is any truth in this) then it won't be anything to do with Series 4, all the scripts for that are long done.

The rumour is more likely to refer to the three specials to be filmed in 2008 and broadcast in 2009.

If (and I mean if) they did bring back Rose for these three specials then I would think we would also see David Tennant leaving at the end of them as I could only see Billie returning for DTs regeneration story.

Rose would either be killed off just before the regeneration or leave after refusing to travel with the 11th Doctor. If Martha or Donna are still around by that point they could provide the continuity to Series 5 or maybe TPTB want a clean slate and want to start Series 5 with a new Doctor and a new companion.

RTD, if you're reading this forum, do us a favour will you?
Kill Rose off for us will you?

Murder her in the most violent manner possible so as to ensure that there's not a chance in hell she's coming back.

It's the only way to kill the endless speculation. Call it a mercy killing. It's for the best.

How about The Doctor finds a way to Alt-Earth (or Rose to Real-Earth), they swear undying love to each other & get married with the next series being "Doctor Who - The Next Generation"

Yes bring back Rose, I rather fancy her. Better than that black bird they had. Catherine Tate is a rake and does nothing for me.

how about they press the reset switch once too often and everything is restored to how it was prior to Rose being taken to alt Earth by Pete. only she gets killed instantly by the Daleks who badly misjudge their temporal shift.

everyone can claim it is an original and amazing series finale penned by RTD

"The Black Bird" was a million times more attrractive than Billie Piper to the vast majoruty of men. Nicer looks, much better skin, better figure (not the dumpy stodge of Billie's thighs, belly) and more intelligent. Matha also wasnt chav-scum.

"black bird" also sounds a bit offensive...

I personally think it's a really bad idea for the health of Doctor Who the tv series to bring Rose back for a special so soon.

It's been a bit too obsessed with Rose for it's own good.

In terms of the new series:

Series 1 was spent with CE getting to know Rose and Rose 'saving CE'

Series 2 was spent with Rose getting to know DT

Series 3 was spent with DT sobbing to FA about missing Rose

The series is called 'Doctor Who' - not 'Doctor Who and Rose'

They really need to move on... if Doctor Who is not a good enough series to work without Rose Tyler, then it's a sad state of affairs.

what i would like to ask as it has bothered me is .Rose is in a parallel world is their doc who in the parallel world and is is it our doc or another doc and if so why did he not help that world as our doc did with ours.

That's actually a very good point and I love Rose but I can't see a "Rose comes back" ep that is not just School Reunion with Rose instead of Sarah Jane

It would be nice to see her again before David Tennant leaves but I'd not want it to undermine the ending they gave her in Doomsday and I don't think RTD would want to do that either

The NOTW got it wrong, it's actually Rose the dog in the parallel universe that they are trying to bring back.

The only way I can see it working is having an alt-earth special, with Rose, and an alt doctor. It wouldn't even need to be DT. That would be the way to do it, and could release DT even more for series 5/the specials.

I have never been a big Rose fan, but having watched re-runs of her stories on uk gold, she has finally grown on me. However, I in no way shape or form want her to return to the show ever. She has gone, let it be and get over it. Are all the calls for her to return from new fans that didn't grow up with classic Who? It would appear so, as those who watched the old series know that companions come, do their bit and then leave forever. Yes I was very glad to see Sarah Jane return as she has always been my favourite companion. But her return was a one off some 30 odd years after her departure (I'm not counting K9 and company and the 5 Doctors) and I wouldn't want her back full time.

DW move forward and always should

Time Lords don’t inhabit normal timelines. They lived outside the normal timelines and were able to cross the timelines. With the destruction of The Time Lords and the closing of the bridges between the timelines The Doctor is stuck in only one timeline and it seams that because he is a Time Lord there is only one of him.

If they oust Martha for Rose I'll be so p*ssed off.

NOTW are compulsive liars and make the daily star look reliable. So I won't get my hopes up, but she did say a few days/weeks ago that she wouldn't mind it, did she not?

Have to wait and see, ey.

Hoo boy. I mean, I love Rose to bits, and wept when she left. It was a sad event, but wonderfully handled.

I have to say though, that I agree with those saying she shouldn't return, and it's with regret that I say that really. Part of me would dearly love to see her back, but it's unfair to the show and just wrong really. Don't do it Beeb.

I know, they axed rose from doctor who (Well, practically. I know she's in it for a bit ) and then Catherine tate takes over as the companion (I mean, cummon! ) and then we hear Rose might be coming back. I don't think the Doctor Who team liked Rose, as some people pointed out here on DS a few months back, in one of the confidential episodes Freema was messing up or something and they seemed to be getting peeved and then the next week after it's airing we learn that she's moving to torchwood (a demotion in my eyes, as much as I love Torchwood).

So does this mean all of the companions would be around at the season finale. Hmmmm...

Martha and Rose would be bitch fighting over the doctor and Donna would be just yelling at everybody.

I wouldn't be surprise if the doctor left them all.
