I was a regular Frankie fan
But it was over when he had the plan
To start working on a muscle man
Now the only thing that gives me hope
Is my love of a certain dope
Rose tints my world
Keeps me safe from my trouble and pain...

Allthough they could always leav Rose out of it and do the time war again

if you feel that Rose's story is not completely told what do feel there is left to add if she did return?

I dont know BG, but Ive no objections to a popular character returning, it happens in other shows so why not Who? As long as it is a good story then it doesnt bother me in the slightest. I welcome it in fact.

I agree but normally characters return when there is still a story left to tell or something is left unresolved and in this case I thought the way RTD ended it drew a line under the relationship between The Doctor and Rose. Sometimes there is a danger of bringing back a well loved character can do more harm than good as the magic that was once there fails to materialise again.

She could put a saddle on the Doctor's back and ride around in her underwear

hmmm.. from the very start of the DW revival, there have been rumblings of old characters coming back.. some have happened whilst others have not.. RTD has always tried not to revise DW history where possible and i think a return for rose would not contradict this policy; for sure the emotion at the end of s2 was all about the relationship that they did or might have had, but leaving her in a parallel world is a concept just ripe to exploit imo

i wouldnt have a problem with rose returning under any circumstances; this is sci-fi, and anything can happen. thats the beauty of fiction

For me it had been written for the window to remain firmly open, if Rose had been killed off then it might have been a bit tougher to bring her back then I'd probaly agree with it being a bad move. I took the beach scenes in Doomsday for what they were, extremely well written and power full emotionally, does it mean Rose shouldn't return, for me no, does it lessen the impact of those scenes, no.

Your right it is a chance to take as the magic that was once there might not be there again, but chances are for taking .

With repeated viewing of series two I don't think Rose was as bad as some are making out or as I had originally thought, infact I think she was a stronger and at times a funnier character.

I am sorry I have to agree. I think the character of Rose and Billies portrayal were superb.

Yet to bring her back so soon seems like a bad move. The only possible way I could imagine it could work is if she does not actually get to see / speak to the Dr. Would be a complicated script I think only moffat could pull off....

I dont want to see DW turn into a soap....

have nothing against the return of any character if there is a real reason or purpose for doing so rather than it being a ratings ploy. it worked when they brought back Sarah Jane as the character got the closure she needed after being left back on Earth. so if there is something to add to their story which will bring about a resolution or closure for their relationship then it might be interesting to see but for me it ended on the beach back in July 2006. more than happy to be proved wrong. as temperare says above hand it over to Moffat who can handle such a complex storyline and would deliver a less contrived and more dramatic piece.

Very good.

Spooky though - has anyone ever mentioned RTD's Rocky agenda before?

I think her return could open up an interesting new dynamic...particularly if she brought back her universe's Doctor with her, and we had a clash of the Doctors...

PLUS, this could be an excellent way for the BBC to trial a new doctor, as the parallel Doctor could be in whatever incarnation they wanted...11th, 12th, 19th ( ), Valeyard, Watcher or some other merging thing I've only read about, woman, black, whatever, and not be quite as contraversial as if the original Doctor were to be whatever the parallel Doctor is...

Then you'd have the Doctor compettitive and trying to out-do himself and competing for Rose/whatever other companions are around.....it could all be very interesting IMO.

Or just bring her back in a Basque...that'll do too!

Oooh - only as long as it can include the audience participation. Y'know - yelling out SL*T every time Rose appears on screen and ASSHOLE for every Slitheen appearance.

In fact I guess that the Weeping Angels could be the Rocky Horrors??

I'll get me coat.

You know, I think this could work...

I can see it now Doctor! The Musical written by Russell T Davies and Andrew Lloyd Webber. The BBC could have a programme - The Exterminate Factor - where hopeful young actors compete for the role of Dalek Emperor by performing pop songs in front of a live audience and panel of judges, one of whom will be John Barrowman, because it's the Law.

There's a light, Over at the blue police box -
There's a girl, Burning in the fireplace

...

I remember doing the Time War
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me
And the void would be calling
Let's do the Time War again
Let's do the Time War again

...

When Micky said his name wasn't Ricky
You knew he was a no good kid
But when he threatened your life
With a switch blade knife
What a guy
Makes you cry
And I did

Everybody shoved him
I very nearly loved him
I said hey listen to me
Stay sane inside insanity
But he locked the door
And threw away the key

But he must've been drawn
Into something
Making him warn me
In a note which reads
I'm out of my head
Oh hurry, or I may be the dog

...

You won't find Earth people quite the easy mark you imagine
This sonic screwdriver - it is, I suppose, some kind of
Audio-vibratory, physiomolecular transport device

You mean

Yes, It's something we ourselves have been working on for quite some time
But it seems our friend here has found a means of perfecting it
A device which is capable of breaking down solid matter and then
Projecting it through space, and who knows, perhaps even time itself

...

Whatever happened to Sarah Jane?
That delicate satin draped frame
As it clung to her thigh, how I started to cry
'Cause I wanted to be dressed just the same
Give yourself over to absolute pleasure
Swim the warm waters of sins of the flesh
Erotic nightmares beyond any measure
And sensual daydreams to treasure forever
Can't you just see it. Whoa ho ho!

Would there be a parrell doctor in Rose's world though?

I'm sure they'll do the return well I was just happy with the closure that Rose received
