I think they start on the pro dancers speciality and James is a latin specialist.

Possible that both dances were being taught to cover all possibilities

If we all voted for the best dancers rather than our "favourits" or the comical disasters then the BBC wouldn`t have made this change. Fortunately were all human and we tend to have this annoying habit of voting with our hearts rather than our heads at times ...........On a more serious note I can understand why this change to the voting format has been made...........Will it result in the dead wood being voted off and the better dancers surviving ?? Only time will tell my friends but I think we should`t be tooooo harsh on the production team as their only trying to ensure SCD is a dancing competition rather than a BB style popularity contest. This format seemed to work with the Maria program so fingers crossed for SCD.

Well the voting public seemed to have made the right choice last night.

I think the main problem is that the results show is not live, not that the judges have the final say.

I just hope that it's not been done because the judges are getting ticked off because the naughty voters go against their wishes!

Surely they must have realised by now that if they are perceived to be overly harsh on a couple they will get the votes whereas if they fawn over another couple, then they won't. Just even out the praise and tone down the critisicm and they will probably get the result they seek, anyway!

At this stage of the game then the top couple on the leader board are usually pretty safe because they have to come dead last on viewer votes to be out - in fact top 3 really are relatively secure, so the results can be weighted in favour of the ones they definitely want to go through anyway.

I think the problems could start when someone is in the bottom 2 and saved for more than a couple of times. If you aren't pulling in the votes then really you should go.

I've always thought that the first week is harsh, because we are voting cold, if you like. It is a personality contest as much as anything else - or you wouldn't be able to vote through the week and It takes Two wouldn't be on. Given that, I'd like a bit more time to get to know the people that are outside my sphere of reference - I'd like to see the first week be a non-elimination week and I've always wanted It Takes Two to start the week before the Saturday show so that you can see the training and get to know the celebs a bit more (or I just want SCD to start earlier and go on for longer )

Possible problem. A couple do a brilliant performance but end up in bottom two and then completely fluff it the dance off. Do they go even though their first performance was much better than the other bottom 2 couple?

The good - It will help the better dancers to stay in the competition which is a positive
The bad - It will allow the judges to keep their favourites, who won't necessarily be the best dancers.

I don't think it will stop viewers watching, it could be potentially more exciting. It may even make viewers vote even more, as if your favourite isn't the best dancer they need to be kept away from the bottom two entirely - rather than just bottom position. I do think it will create some controversy though.
The judges have made no secret of the fact that some celebs like Chris Parker shouldn't have got through to the final....he got through due to his fans. So no doubt they will be quick to vote off people like him.

I think it should have stayed done to the audience vote..or maybe of the bottom 3 the judges get to save 1 couple not knowing where they are in the bottom 3...and then whoever is the bottom will get evicted.

The overwhelming majority of the pros on the show are Latin specialists.
