![]() I think they were originally marketed under the "Smiths" label but are now "Walkers" branded. They haven't changed in any way that I'm aware of other than they now are only being sold in multipacks. AFAICR they are packs of eight. Check out your local supermarkets and you should be able to find them without much difficulty.

"Salt and Shake" crisps are still available, they have always been my favourite "plain" crisps!

I used to love Kelloggs 'Country Store' muesli. I haven't seen it for years.

Crikey, I'm getting a)nostalgic and b) very hungry reading this thread.
![]() Things I remember and miss, including 'prompts' from other posters: Pacers Spangles Mint Cracknell Swiskit choc bars (TV ad, mid 70's 'Would you risk it for a Swiskit'?)...think they later became 'Picnics', but tasted different. 'Old Jamaica' choc bars Boiled sweets individually welded into plastic shells (cost 2p)- used to take ages to eat them (not the plastic!!!) Apeel orange juice 'Triple Deck' choc bars (plain, milk, white in layers) Biscuit Yorkie Cider Shandy 'Top Deck' cans of pop Baked Potato 'n' cheese flavoured puffs Baked Potato flavoured crisps Dentyne aniseed chewing gum Horlicks Tablets 'Merlin's Brew' mint choc iced lollies Cider-flavoured iced lollies Multi-layered 'Jawbreakers' (may still do?) 'Fish & Chips' mini biscuits AND 'PROPER' SMARTIES! ![]() Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Apple Mini Pizzas (actually, that's a bit of a 'red herring'...they were vile and my local Tesco couldn't give them away eventually!) ![]() As you can see from above, I have a sweet tooth. Thankfully, there are now these shops/stalls opening up where they specialise in 'childhood favourites' sweets. They locate them from all over the country---thing is, you pay extra for the privilege!!! ![]() Finally, there was this hot dog topping that was discontinued only a few years back. It was striped ketchup and mustard in a tube (bit like toothpaste). My family loved it with hot dogs and then it disappeared. Can't remember who the manufacturer was, either.

All this has reminded me of "Football Crazies" - they only had one flavour I think, Smokey Bacon. They were lovely.

![]() Things I remember and miss, including 'prompts' from other posters: Pacers - As mentioned earlier, fondly remembered! Spangles - Olde English were the only ones worth mentioning imho! (again highlighted earlier!) Mint Cracknell Swiskit choc bars (TV ad, mid 70's 'Would you risk it for a Swiskit'?)...think they later became 'Picnics', but tasted different. 'Old Jamaica' choc bars - Tasty, discussed previously! Boiled sweets individually welded into plastic shells (cost 2p)- used to take ages to eat them (not the plastic!!!) Apeel orange juice - Remember that too! 'Triple Deck' choc bars (plain, milk, white in layers) Biscuit Yorkie - Wasn't around for long afaicr. Cider Shandy 'Top Deck' cans of pop - Mmm rememer drinking this on a school trip! Baked Potato 'n' cheese flavoured puffs Baked Potato flavoured crisps Dentyne aniseed chewing gum - Loved the Cinammon flavour! Horlicks Tablets - Mentioned my addiction earlier in the thread! 'Merlin's Brew' mint choc iced lollies Cider-flavoured iced lollies - Loved them too! Multi-layered 'Jawbreakers' (may still do?) - Yep, think they're still around, although harder to come by. 'Fish & Chips' mini biscuits - Came in a newsprint style bag! 'PROPER' SMARTIES! ![]() Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Apple Mini Pizzas (actually, that's a bit of a 'red herring'...they were vile and my local Tesco couldn't give them away eventually!) ![]() As you can see from above, I have a sweet tooth. Bachelor's Dried Peas...........
Can't get 'em for love nor money..........I have to walk a mile to a working class supermarket and buy 'Leo' brand dried peas............ ![]() Maybe your local branches of these working class stores think there is no demand? If you shop in Waitrose or Harrods food hall then just complain and they will order them specially for you. I prefer Whitworths dried marrowfat peas. Though Booth's own brand are good too.

Cabanas Mmmmnnn.
God this thread has got me drooling. I would also love to see the return of Pacers (same as Opal Fruits in terms of look and consistency but white and green striped and a lovely mint flavour). Also adored cheese and onion Ringos. If you ate a couple of bags on the trot you could almost feel your tongue burning! ![]() You can still get Top Deck shandy. Has anyone seem Vesta Beef Currys recently as all I can find in the Vesta bit are Risottos. I love a Vesta curry every now and again! |
