Guide+ Host Chanel Change?
I've now been about a week without any Guide+ information.
I've reset (stop, power on/off) the 540 and re entered the guide+ info, setting the host channel to Eurosport (410). The 540 will change to the host channel without any problems at the appropriate download time but then I'm getting nothing...not even the EPG message on the fron screen. Have I missed something and Gemstar have changed the host channel from Eurosport - not found anything on the internet/Genstar to say this so I doubt it... I've been fairly issue free for around 18 months so far, and unless I'm having a complete mental block can't see that I've done anything different. Also vaguely remember I could get the Eurosport teletext up even though I was a non subscriber to the Sky package - I can't get the teletext on Eurosport any longer (Press TV on Sky remote, then text??). Also no text feed via my TV remote. Have no terrestrial signal so I can't use any other data sources. Any suggestions? Cheers Chris |

Have you checked that Eurosport hasn't been unselected in the Channel editor line up,and assuming you are in the UK and not Spain/Gibraltar.

I can only imagine that either Eurosport have stopped transmitting text or the Sky boxes no longer pass through the text. This is worrying... |

Ooer, I've just checked mine and I'm getting no text on 410 Eurosport any more either. I definitely did before. However, I've checked my Guide+ listings and it all seems to be there up until next Tuesday. I assume it's a 7-day EPG??

Thanks guys - having done a bit of Google work, apparently Sky boxes sometimes "forget" that there is a text data feed on some channels.
By unplugging the Sky box apparently it will the reset Scart connections(???) and hey presto the text is back - sorry for sounding vague and nontechnical. Anyway, unplugged the Sky box last night and connected it directly to the TV and Eurosport text was there and working fine... However, when I connected via the 540, I get the "no text available" which I found odd but not the end of the world as, when I left for work this morning it appeared to be downloading the EPG as normal. I'll update tomorrow but in short, if you're having a similar problem to mine, unplugging the Sky box for a few minutes could be the solution. Cheers Chris |

Yeah, panic over hopefully! I've checked my Guide+ listings today and next Tuesday has been populated so it looks OK. I still get No Text Available on 410 but like you my Sky box goes through the Pio, although it always has done and I used to get text before. I'll try connecting directly to the TV if I have time.
