Switching to 2nd BT phone line
Hi Everyone,
I am having trouble with BT Broadband on my home phone line. I have been through all the BT help, and am now awaiting a visit from an engineer, as it looks like a line fault. There are actually 2 lines, and I know the previous tenant succesfully used BT Broadband on the other line, which is now inactive. Does anyone know if it is possible, and the cost, to switch my BT account to the other line? I can't bear another hour waiting to get through to a call centre.. Thanks! |

As vague as it sounds, it depends. If your 2nd line takes the same routing as your main line then there probably won't be a difference unless, of course, the issues are on the wires from the distribution/joint toards the house.
Also, your other line may be disconnected (as opposed to merely 'stopped') and that would require a £125 reconnection. Your best bet would be to wait for the engineer to rectify the fault. |
