Routing of sky signal advice please.
Hi,
I am looking for a bit of advice about routing sky to a third room. I currently have a sky plus box with a coax connection to an upstairs bedroom. I use the standard sky remot eye to control. Is it possible to split this cable at the sky box to distribute it to a second room. If so what magic gadget would I need? Will it be possible to use a second remote eye in the second room or will the signal need boosting? I have considered remote video senders - I appreciate this will be a more expensive option. Is it worth the extra money? I also have a slight problem with my original routing in that I would like to move the television however the coax from the sky box (which runs outside the house) is about 8' to short. Is it possible to join the cable with a short length of coax? If so what is the best type of connector to use to prevent loss and ensure the remote eye still works. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Jon |

Yes you can get specific splitters to do what you require, splitting the RF output to two (or more) locations, and having magic eyes on all of them.
Extending the coax is no problem either, just use coax plugs and a line connector - ensure you either solder or crimp the coax plugs, or the magic may not work. |

The Global Communications T120 Amplifier should do for your application.
