There is a right mixed bag of cover versions on this CD:

Highlights are:
Editors do Lullaby (The Cure)
Raconteurs do Teenage Kicks (Undertones)
Kylie does Love is the Drug (Roxy Music)

Lowlights
Robbie Williams does Lola
The Streets do Your Song
Kasabian do Too Much Too Young

Anyone else listened to it yet ??

yeah, i've been listenin to it, some are great, some not so

highlights:

Kylie - Love Is The Drug - great version, has Calvin Harris producing it, could be a sign of things to come on her album, as he produced that too

Mika and Armand van Helden - Can't Stand Losing You - god knows why i like this, i know i shouldn't - but i love it!!!

Mutya Buena - Fast Car - great song, Mutya has a great voice!

The Twang - Drinking in LA - Love. It. Great song, i knew the twang wouldn't let me down!

Lowlights:

The Streets - Your Song - Oh... My... God... one of my favourite songs ruined!!!

Paolo Nutini - It Must Be Love - his voice doesn't suit the song at all, in my opinion of course. others may disagree

Girls Aloud - Teenage Dirtbag - they've sucked all the life outta this!

It really is a mixed bag, isn't it??

Favourites so far-

Band On The Run- Foo Fighters (really suits his voice!)
Under Pressure- Keane
You're So Vain- The Feeling

Funny, they're all on CD1!

Toxic- Hard Fi is growing on me!

Don't like-

The Streets- Your Song (he's ruined it!!)
The Mika thing- WTF?

I adore The Streets, but Mike Skinner cannot sing to save his life.

I kinda like the Girls Aloud track though

Careless Whisper - Gossip
Band On The Run- Foo Fighters
Mika and Armand van Helden - Can't Stand Losing You
The Twang - Drinking in LA

All of the above could easily be released and do well in the charts.

Highlights for me:
Keane managed to do justice to Under Pressure as much as is possible.
Hard Fi - Toxic is just brilliant!!
Lily Allen sounds lovely on Don't Get Me Wrong
Franz Ferdinand doing Sound and Vision is good too

Lowlights:
Robbie sounds boring doing Lola
Girls Aloud just murder Teenage Dirtbag
The Streets doing Your Song...what?!?!
and I don't see what's so great about Mika's version of Can't Stand Losing You

Need to pick up this album

Loved the Gossip doing Careless Whisper, loved Kylie and loved Mika. Natasha Bedingfield was amazing as was Mutya.

Really didn't like Hard-Fi though, Toxic being one of the best songs on the album managed to be murdered by Hard Fi (who I like, Stars of CCTV was surprisingly good and love their new stuff) I couldn't understand a word that was being sung at all, really dissappointed with it, same with Robbie Lola, don't like the original, don't like Robbie so it was never going to be aq favourite with me lol

What I find annoying is that a few of these weren't done "Especially for Radio 1" as they've been claiming. The Robbie track was done with Guy Chambers, so is at least 3 or 4 years old. And Girls Aloud have been singing Teenage Dirtbag on Tour, I'm sure there's more.

That said.....

Highlights
Steady As She Goes - Corrine Bailey Rae
Flowers In The Rain - Kaiser Chiefs
Don't Get Me Wrong - Lily Allen
Toxic - Hard-Fi
Band On the Run - Foo Fighters

Lowlights
Teenage Kicks - The Raconteurs
Town Called Malice - McFly
Lovefool - Just Jack (But I love the original - and his just ruins the song for me)
Teenage Dirtbag - Girls Aloud.

I don't mind Lola by Robbie. And Ray Of Light by Natasha Bedingfield is growing on me, but it just sounds a bit screechy lol.
