Is it possible to get a decent quality 32" LCD for around £400
My mums after a new TV. She's not technially minded and uses Virgin Media's cable TV service.
She has about £400 to spend on a new telly and wants one around 32". Ive seen too many people buy crappy ones from Tesco and Argos just because of the cheap price and the picture quality was less than perfect. They were too bright/picture looked blurry/black looked light grey instead of black ect... She isnt too bothered about HD, but ofcourse a TV is an investment and I would like it to be futureproof incase she wants to take out a HD subscription later on. Im looking on www.richersounds.com at the moment, but I was just wondering if anyone else had any suggestions, or any make/model to avoid. I have a 37" panasonic and am very satisfied, but she thinks 37 would be too big and is happy with a 32. (anything is better than her current samsung 28'' CRT )Thanks in advance to anyone who has any advice or suggestions

Im gonna try and talk her into the LG-32LB75 because I think its stunning. ![]() Also the contrast ratio is MUCH higher... 8000:1 compared to 1200:1 Thanks so much for your feedback.

Don't pay any attention to the specs like that, different manufacturers measure it in completely different ways - so you can't compare them. Only way is to check the picture quality on them.
http://www.tvandvideodirect.com/prod...=3087&xSec=629 the LG 32LB75 32'' HD Ready Digial LCD Television is on sale for .... £415.79 because of the size of the screen delivery is free |

This 32" Philips might be worth having a look at.
http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/...p?pid=50710747 I don't have any personal experience of this panel, but coming in at a meagre £350, it certainly fits your budget. Hmm... It is silver... but at that price you could you could afford a tin of black paint. I guess silver telly's are cheap for a reason. Last edited by Apollo 1875 : 04-10-2007 at 02:15. Reason: addition |
