£400 for a decent spec 32'' ? ? Anyone ?
Sorry, meant to post this in here, not the HD forum...
Basically, my mums after a new TV. She's not technially minded and uses Virgin Media's cable TV service. She has about £400 to spend on a new telly and wants one around 32". Ive seen too many people buy crappy ones from Tesco and Argos just because of the cheap price and the picture quality was less than perfect. They were too bright/picture looked blurry/black looked light grey instead of black ect... She isnt too bothered about HD, but ofcourse a TV is an investment and I would like it to be futureproof incase she wants to take out a HD subscription later on. Im looking on www.richersounds.com at the moment, but I was just wondering if anyone else had any suggestions, or any make/model to avoid. I have a 37" panasonic and am very satisfied, but she thinks 37 would be too big and is happy with a 32. (anything is better than her current samsung 28'' CRT )Thanks in advance to anyone who has any advice or suggestions

Ive also found the stand on the toshiba site. Can the silver stand be detatched from the TV itself?

seems to get good reviews. Use Quidco to possible save another few pounds. |

seems to get good reviews. Use Quidco to possible save another few pounds. But since the OP wants a set all in black, then this is no good, as it's silver. |

Im after a similar 32" HD Freeview set with good sound and a good range of input/outputs for future and seen an LG, Sharp, Sanyo all around £400. Not going to get anything from supermarkets or woolies. What are the crucial stats such as DPI, contrast ratios etc, what is minimum levels for a good pic. Must admit LG seems solid and good sound. Any other ideas?

I can vouch for this one as I have one in the "Family Room". 2 x HDMI inputs, surprisingly good sound and £299. I paid somewhat more (nearer £400) a few months ago. And it's black for the OP. It's good. (Orion make TVs for many "manufacturers" - this one will have been made in South Wales, I guess). Currys also have another 32" Orion at £349.99 - a newer one with a better spec maybe? http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/stor...&category_oid= |
