Sounds like football manager/general election talk to me...

Maybe we will get a trio of Tennant/Piper/Simm in a Doctor Who movie. And throw in a hilarious farting Slitheen for the kids and Bob's your uncle - a smash hit!

Did you SEE Grease 2, Speed 2, V is for Vendetta, Fantastic Four, Batman & Robin, Star Trek: The (Slow) motion picture, The Avengers etc

Have to take issue with those two

ST:TMP is admittedly poor ST, but fantastic high concept Sci-Fi. One of my favourite films ever.

Similarly, I thought The Avengers was a poor movie, but a great TV episode.

Can remember seeing ST:TMP and being very disappointed. It just seemed to lack "Omph!"
Having said that the slightly re-jigged Directors cut seems a lot better.
Watched The Avengers and couldn't believe how "non-Avengers world" it was. For me the joy of the original Avengers was it's quirky Englishness with the skewed situations and humour. Funnily enough it's a pretty good example of the point I was argueing, namely, The big studios take something "Quirky and British" and just don't really get it. So they re-jig it and we end up with something that doesn't satisfy the Fans OR the wider world.

No I did not see those movies because I have the common sense to know a bad movie when I hear it. Just as I have common sense to know that Hollywood has made some great movies as well as some awful ones.

What was the point of that anyway? Anyone can list some rubbish movies to try and prove a point, just like anyone can list some great movies too- The Shawshank Redemption, Magnolia, Fargo, Being John Malkovich, Donnie Darko, The Royal Tennenbaums and Mulholland Dr. Or if you want to go populist, Spider-Man 2, The Lord of the Rings, Batman Begins, X-Men 2, The Bourne Identity, Ocean's Eleven and Hellboy. See it's easy.

All I was saying is that Hollywood has a better pedigree in film making than the BBC. Can you list great BBC films? Like Hollywood, the BBC is just a bunch of men in suits who want to make money, the difference being Hollywood has more money and a bigger pool of talent to do it with.

Afterall, the BBC has only started to respect Doctor Who since it became their cash cow in the last couple of years. Before that they spent no money on it and cancelled it in 1989.
