Can anyone reccomend a camcorder that would provide good quality recordings to be posted on youtube, with some reasonable editing software included? ... I'm thinking in terms of a hard disk storage system, which would allow plenty of space for the camera to run (say 20 hours or so). Would it be possible to get something along these lines in the price range £200-350? Thanks.

I can't really answer your question but I would have thought given the very low quality of youtube that any camera would have been good enough in terms of PQ. If you look for specs of cameras it should give running times including for low resolution recording.

Well Youtube prefers 320x240 resolution images and will hammer the bitrate in its transcoding process

I use a Vivitar DVR-530 - quite cheap now, and decent quality, don;t know about the 20hr recording time, but you can only upload 10 mins to youtube anway!

you can view my recordings using the vivitar at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Northukbikers
