Is Tiscali Tv any good

Hi

I am new to this forum.

I currently subscribe to Top Up Tv, but i am looking to change to another TV service provider and Tiscali Tv seems like a good option. Is it any good. What programmes do you get. How is reception through broadband?. Any feed back will be most appreicated.

Is it any good?

Compared to Topup TV it's a steal. Top UP TV Costs a tenner and gives virtually nothing plus you have to get broadband and phone line rental seperately.

Tisali TV includes line rental, Broadband and the TV in one low bill.

Picture quality is slightly software and MPEG artefacts are more evident on some of the "lesser" channels but the main channels are good quality.

VOD is a hoot once you get used to it and you may find that you lose an afternoon to a series that you enjoy.

Certainly worth it. I know there are a few that have had problems, but I have had the service for the past year and a half and I have had no problems. It's a good service, certainly offers more VOD than Virgin Media (something that many don't know) and is better than BT Vision. My parents have Virgin and my Sister has BT Vision and having seen both I prefer Tiscali. Also Tiscali, even though it has a select few channels than maybe Sky or Virgin, it has the better channels rather than other stuff that not many people may watch. You won't find stuff like Google TV (like on Virgin) on Tiscali for instance.

I think it's definately worth it!!

I'm just on the verge of deciding whether to switch to Tiscali TV or not. Do you know if this DVB-T tuner would be provided as an upgrade when it comes out, or would I be better off waiting before I join?

If nothing goes wrong, its fine, I have had pretty much 3 trouble free years... but when something goes wrong GOOD LUCK as I am now finding out, it is very stressful to get anything done

I had a bit of an issue getting tiscali to agree that it was actually available in my area.

"Computer sez no!" syndrome I imagine.

Installation last night, and no real problems. Seems like a great service and 10 quid cheaper than my last BB + Line rental bundle.

Cant be bad.

Looking forward to the PVR though, and this fabled new remote. The one they provided me with is pretty damn fugly.

I am interested in switching to Tiscali from Virgin but customer services have told me it's not available in my area and can't tell me when it will be. Just where in Liverpool can you receive it? When will it be available everywhere else?

Are you absolutely sure about that? I'm sure virgin has more, or very similar to it.

Tiscali TV has more VOD than Virgin and its better value.

Looks like Virgin don't want you to have Tiscali lol.
