Help! N95 SATNAV
Does it cost?
After paying for the satnav to track you and read the directions out...does it cost to use after that? I didn't think it did but you need to have a access point defined? Am i going to be landed with a hefty wap bill? @ 1mb = £3 ? Help! |

Yes you will. I forked out ofr the same phone so I could have all the extras but it's not worth it because of how much it costs to access the web, £3 per mb is a lot and it doesnt go as far as you might think neither. I recommend gettin tom-tom, its cheaper in the long run.

While I think you can pre-load the maps, you're still better off having an unlimited data package like the 1gb offered by T-Mobile & 3.

Can someone advise me?
I should be having my N95 delivered tomorrow. My home PC is wasted but I have access to the internet at work; allthough nothing can be installed. Would I be able to install the maps without using PC Suite? Would I be able to download the file, and then email it to my phone and install it that way? Im on unlimited data on Tmobile, but I heard it takes days and days to download directly to your phone. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks |

Thanks thats what it cost you. for example I dont use it that often so I would prob (when going on hol etc) buy a 30 day service. its not ideal if you want it for every day use, this is my 2nd n95 and I sometimes found the sat nav frustrating. as a camera, phone, email etc is first class, but if u want a reliable sat nav spend the £100 and get a stand alone device.. |

Balls.
Thanks ![]() Why not just pre-load the maps, & set the Nokia Maps app to *not* use the network / access point? What I've done... |
