3 phone - gonna chuck it out the window!!!
Hi all,
If this thread has been opened before then I apologise..! I have a 3 phone and it's been great except 2 weeks ago I lost all my RSS feeds and 2 days ago all my email disappeared and now when I try to access it, the screen just says 'finding server' and doesn't go any further (I'm not trying to access 3mail, it's IMAP4 if that makes sense) The call centre has been extremely helpful in being unhelpful and so was wondering if anyone else had had the same problem at all? If I need to give any other info then do let me know (not very technical you see!)

Some with similar problems would suggest that you get what you pay for.
That has been my experience with 3. I am always tempted to go back but twice bitten thrice shy. If only 3 was as reliable as the others the dreadful offshore support would not be required by so many and that is the major drawback of 3. What a shame Hutchison decided the UK would put up with pathetic support from India to save a few quid a month. Poor strategy. |

Did this happen on from the 19th of Sept by any chance?
There is a known issue at the moment with RSS and other items that connect directly to the internet, as you might have noticed when you try to access external webpages, you get a message saying that you will be charged if you don't have an addon for data. I believe its being investigated at the moment - as it appears that information page is preventing some programmes on the handset from using packet data until the "Continue" option has been selected. I would call up 3 technical support and get them to raise a case about this issue, the error certainly exists at the moment. |

I think they've recently (or about to) change their data plans to allow pay as you go internet access as well as paid add-on.
Perhaps this is why it's not working properly at the moment. My email (3 push) seems to disconnect on a daily basis and doesn't attempt to reconnect automatically - it's generally okay, but has been doing this now for the last few days. |

I had a look on their website and it looks like they've changed my add ons so I have to buy one more to get email now, bit of a pain but you really do get what you pay for! |

If I need to give any other info then do let me know (not very technical you see!) ![]() It looks like all data traffic is being sent to that screen for "Continue" to be pressed before being dealt with normally, but of course you can't press "Continue" if you're not on a WWW browser. The other day, "Continue" changed to "Continue and don't show me this again for one day", but it still appears on every connection I make. It's odd that this isn't being more widely talked-about; I looked on a specialist 3G web forum yesterday, where you'd expect every minor change to service to be debated endlessly, and saw no mention of it. Perhaps it only affects a few people? I'm going to give them a call about it; surely something as big as all non-WWW packet data becoming unusable won't go unnoticed by Three? For all the FUD wavejockglw spreads on every Three thread on here, they do have techies in this country. |

Same usual stuff from you I see, the fact that people like me have had the same service from a UK customer services centre (t-mobile in my case) is besides the point.
I had alot better service from 3 than t-mobile for sure. I agree .... Just how often do some people ring the FREE Cs anyway to get constant poor service ? My wife as been with Three for years and as seen great improvements in handsets , battery life and better reception with good retention deals been offered on her 12 month deal. Its not as if she as to ring an 0870 number and be put on hold for 20 mins Last Nov she got a call from 3 to upgrade her 12 month contract , months before the Feb date that the contract ended In Nov they gave her a brand new phone W850I and 5 months half price , deducted from her bill , no redemptions required and let her stay on her 12 month contract . However there are some good deals been offered by other operators that may make her think again when its upgrade time , but these are wanting you to go for 18 / 24 month contracts |

Just to clarify and save this useful thread going off into a pointless pro/anti-Three slanging match, the offending screen looks like this:
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2...hot0003ie4.png At the bottom of the page, there's a link reading "Having problems with this page?" I am, so I clicked on it, but it just shows this meaningless screen. I mean, I don't even have a red button and I already have the add-on! http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/5...hot0005tz0.png |
