I use a roaming SIM (mycherrymobile) to get cheap calls in Japan... but I got an email saying:

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, services on the Cherry Mobile SIM Card have been suspended.

This is affecting a number of other Roaming SIM Card suppliers worldwide and is not specific to Cherry."

So they basically took my credit on my SIM and are saying we'll send you a new SIM when we're ready..... WTF?

Whats even more confusing is that other similar companies are also having problems.

What happened?
We have been having major problems with one of our suppliers. We are not alone in the current situation many other low cost roaming providers have also been affected.

Do I need to get a new SIM card?
Yes, in order to continue to use Cherry Mobiles services you will need to have a replacement SIM.

Will I get a new number?
Yes you will be provided with a new UK mobile number.

What happens to all my credit?
We will be transferring all credit to your new SIM

When will I get my new SIM?
We hope to have your new SIM to you by the middle of next week.

My non-Cherry roaming SIM has stopped working! How do I get a Cherry SIM?
Simply send us your old (non cherry) global roaming SIM card and we will provide you with a new Cherry SIM card free of charge(Excluding P&P. £2.50 Royal Mail, £5.50 Next Day Courier, £6 International)

I suspect that they have fllen out with what ever network they used for roaming and have signed up with a new one.
