Hope
Just a message to the British public...
Don't let Simon Cowell and the X-factor producers manipulate you into voting for the manufactured girl band to win. The only aim of this is to line the industry's pockets. X-factor is no longer a talent contest in any sense, it is simply a platform to increase the turnover of certain media companies and celebrities. Switch off your TV's, don't phone in a vote, and lets get some honesty back. |

Just type Raguelle Gracie into Google search. Very interesting she has appeared on television already in a programme called Gypsy Girl. Has been to Italia Conti stage school, appeared in Les Miserable.
Also had a look at her My Space. It appears that she has recorded some songs already. You can actually listen to them. I definately smell a rat. Simon Cowell knows exactly what he is doing. I feel sure that Hope are going to be the winners of X Factor 2007. Simon wins again! This is totally wrong trying to con the viewing public. |

Both Daniel and Nicki in the over 25's group have had record contracts too. |

I do not know about that but I thought that the idea of X Factor was to find new talent.

You won't need to look very far to see that everyone from Steve Brookstein to Ray Quinn and Leona have all dabbled in showbiz before. The winner of Any Dream Will Do was a West End Understudy for goodness sake. It doesn't mean it's a fix, just that open auditions means just that - anyone and everyone can audition. Anyone with a bit of experience is going to be better than someone off the street... |

I won't be voting for either of the groups Simon/Louis have put together.I just don't think it's fair, there must have been loads of good groups, that weren't given a fair chance. Of couse we didn't get to see any of those.

Oh thankyou OP for enlightening me. I will not be watching X Factor or voting this year because you have opened my eyes to the shocking reality that X Factor is being run to... make money. Here was me thinking they did it as a hobby and for the love of discovering new talent and entertaining me.
![]() As for "Hope", it should be interesting, at least. Being a girl group they will obviously need alot of focus on dancing but having got to the boot camp stages, the girls should be decent singers. It has the potential to work, but it also has the potential to be car crash TV. Perhaps if a really good group had lost out because of them, I would be annoyed. However, the only group I managed to vaguely like at auditions was Fallen Angelz who were never going to win anyway. It's just a reverse of when a 16-24 lost out in series 1 because Tabby tried again without his band. As for them winning, I doubt it and I doubt Syco/ Talkback think they will either. Simon won't be a winner 3 out of 4 years and 2 years in a row. The leaked stories of a Sharon/ Danii rivalry suggest they may be building it as a battle between the two of them. The main aim of Hope and Futureproof (IMO) is to bring some interest to the awful groups category and try and cover up the apparent drop in talent this year. I think Simon will want them to last more than a week, to a stage where he can possibly justify giving them a record deal. |

I do thank you actually, although honestly and sincerely unlike most posters on this thread I can't bear Hope and particularly hate that "tread all over everyone else to get to my goal" legs-akimbo twot Raquelle or Raguelle or whatever her stupid name is . She is the embodiment of all that is wrong with the superficial, celeb-obsessed, selfish throw-away society we currently inhabit. The more people who flag up the "Anti-Hope campaign" the better as far as I'm concerned

I wont be voting for them. They haven't got good voices. The only thing they have going for them is that they look the part, and that isn't enough alone.

I've recently been working with a number of the girlbands that lost out on a place in the finals when two of the spots were filled with manufactured bands Hope and Futureproof...
Fallen Angelz, The Chance Sisters, DiSalvo, Afrodisiac, The Scarletz.. all great bands and well deserving of a chance to be put up to the public vote.. obviously not all of them could have reached the final with just three slots available, but when two of those slots are filled before the bootcamp even reaches halfway (if insiders I have spoken to personally are to be believed..) then what's the point.. I shall be watching with interest and 'hope' the public will see sense and realise the injustice, voting out Futureproof and Hope as soon as possible... I have nothing personal against either group, but the whole point is that they all auditioned as individuals, and failed to get through - suddenly Simon (oops, Louis, if you believe what you see on TV.... ) has put them together as bands, and surprise surprise, both reach the final... I shan't patronise anyone by pointing out the obvious... |

If you think there is any chance of these girls winning then you are mad. They are not likeable enough, the public see through girls like this very easily.

I don’t think Simon is really interested in Futureproof. Boybands like that have "best before 1997" stamped on their necks. Besides Westlife can just keep going and going and going until they turn into Daniel O'Donnell. Girls Aloud, on the other hand, have a shorter shelf-life that is maybe coming to an end, so it's clearly Hope they've engineered together and fast-tracked through.
Hope don't need to win. For the past couple of years, all 3 of the semi-finalists have been given record deals. Getting to the semis gives them enough public attention to be launched. And the judges can manipulate which acts get to the semis by saving the acts they want each week from the bottom 2. Hope and Daniel will be in the semis, there is no doubt. |

Personally, I like the Pussycat Dolls and have seen Atomic Kitten too. Despite that, the appeal of girl-groups is usually ephemeral - it depends on (a) sex appeal to us blokes who don't necessarily buy many of the records and (b) vulnerable to the management getting it wrong - in managing the personality mix/image and (3) bad song-choice can screw up the airplay.
The Bangles were one of the few girl groups that could actually cut it whilst being themselves. I can't see Hope having that depth at any point in the future. Hope don't really look 'right' together, even if the vocals are relatively sound. |

The fact that only one original group got to the final - out of all the groups that entered leaves a slightly funny taste in my mouth!
However the girls in Hope & the boys in Futureproof have been given a 2nd opportunity to make it 'big' in showbiz & I wish them well. I believe that if they work hard & give the 'best' performance of the night they deserve to get votes. Let's hope that Simon & the producers do not manage to 'fix' the voting system too. |

God, some people on here take this WAAAAAY too seriosuly. I mean, whoever wins will win, have a number 1 hit at Christmas and then be playing Butlins Southport before you know it! What's the big deal? Nobody ever promised us "reality" did they?

I love even more Charlie Brooker's demolition of it on Screenwipe last week.

I love Simon's recent quote, about the re-shot scenes for Louis' return: "What you see is what really happened".
