Because I have a degree now does that mean I can put letters after my name when filling in forms?

Yeah, but don't but (Hons) because 99% of degrees are with honours and they'll just think you're trying to lengthen your title.

I'm a Bachelor of Arts. Isn't it a stupid thing to call it?

Well the proper title would be BA (Hons), but you can just put BA.

Whatever you do, dont put it as your name on your CV.

Thanks. I've had it for a couple of months now but it's never really been a big deal. All my family got really excited and wanted me to go to my graduation but I thought it was just a waste of time.

I was thinking more about forms for stuff, like opening a bank account etc.

Could I tick the "other" box when it asks for my title?

No because your title is not Ba it is still Mr/Miss/Mrs. A doctor has a title Dr, but the letter theys get after their name is Phd. So you wouldn't call yourself Ba John Doe would you?

In what circumstances would you put your academic qualifications after your name, if you weren't actually in academia (i.e writing/publishing books, etc)?

When I graduate with my 2nd degree I will be BAMA

I don't intend on using it anywhere though...certainly haven't so far.

Personally, I have it on business cards, but wouldn't put it on forms.........

(Actually, just noticed that I don't even bother on business cards anymore)

Errrmmmm aren't you thinking of MBE or other such honour? People don't generally put BA, BSc etc after their names. Have you ever seen an envelope addressed that way for instance? Or a cheque?

Not trying to burst your bubble but a lor of people have degrees and as another poster said, it would look daft.

I never really had a bubble. I just like the thought of having letters after my name.
