I am moving house to an area with a different dial code (01443 -> 01873) but i would like to keep my old number for business use, even if it is just while i let everyone know my new number.

Vonage seems the best option.

Yeah, I don't think there's been any major quibbles about them so go for it.

If you want plug and play and don't mind the connection charge, disconnection charge and highish monthly fee, then they're OK.

Many other VoIP providers out there.

Note: Vonage state you get this free and that free and other free, well many of the options such as Caller Display, 3-Way Calling, Call Transfer, Call Waiting etc are part of VoIP and the hardware so you get them anyway without fee.

For me it's about reliability.....I like the email sent when you have a voice message...very handy. I get free calls to US, Canada, NZ, Australia.
Another plus for me is getting rid of BT's line rental....
I would recommend them. I've had them for over a year now.....VGood.

I had over 2 years of VoIP service with free calls to the UK, USA, Canada, Aus, NZ and a few other countries, all for the grand sum of £6. That's £6 for 2 years.

I just paid a few quid on top of that for my ATA.

No phone line rental, used my cable broadband.

The only reason about 6 weeks ago I had a cable phone line put in was it was installed for free, I don't pay line rental, I get evening and weekend package free and caller display for free. VM didn't want to lose me as a customer, played them at their own game, so they gave me the phone service free and discounted my package.

So now I use VM for the free calls with them and VoIP for the calls not free on VM.

Not had any reliability problem with my VoIP service.

Vonage are hugely expensive. Consider voip.co.uk, Sipgate or Voipfone instead for far cheaper service.

And pay-per-minute. Nah, I'd rather not.

Vonage are fantastic if you like the idea of having a fixed, flat fee - even for international calls. I love it.
