I bought this box which is supposed to allow you to connect a cordless phone to it and use it with skype. I can get the handset to do anything to skype.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Ok, I managed to solve my own problem, eventually. I`ll put what I did in case anyone else has the same difficulty.

The internet box needs to also be connected to the telephone line as well as the pcs usb, whether or not you intend to use the handset as a regualar phone, which I didn`t It seems to need extra current from the telephone socket, as as soon as I connected it to the phone line it worked on skype.

Sounds about right, most things involving Skype end up being Mickey Mouse products I'm afraid!

When you want to use it as a real alternative to a landline, invest in a proper VOIP ATA or router. The services you'll get on a proper SIP based service are far more reliable than Skype, which is a very unstable setup as a whole (and one which EBay admitted to paying over the odds for recently too following their takeover of the service).
