How would i go about this (master socket)

Right, I have a master socket going into my house, the wire has 4 cables, Green/White/Black/Orange (i think)
Two of these are screwed onto the box and the other two are not in use. From there is the test socket.

From the face plate is other wires, the ones with the wite and orange stripes, blue and while and orange and white (if i remembered it correctly) these go into two other sockets around the house.

Today i bought a plate that has a built in filter and the connections at the front. The box tells me to put the stripey ones in as the diagram shows but this is not going to connect me up seen as the plain wires from the wall outside are not mentioned.

What way should i connect this up to the new one? or can i not and i have bought the wrong thing?

Thanks

Can you just clarify that what you have bought is a new faceplate for the master socket to replace the current one and that they plug into the BT test socket?

If that is the case, then you simply wire the new connecter in the same way as the old one. That way you really can't go wrong.

Thats where i have gone wrong you see, It doesnt have the 'bt' connection to go into the test socket.

That does sound very much as if you have ther wrong part.

I can't be sure what you have got.

Thinking about it, it should have been obvious (to me) that you had the wrong part since having a filter on a unit with only one outlet does not make sense unless the unit is a filtered extension socket (if such a thing even exists).

This is what i have, From maplins

What would i need to get then to have a built in filter on the master socket?

You are not allowed to touch the incoming line/wiring before the frontplate of your main socket. If you were simply looking to replace the frontplate, I think you might be looking for this

if you change the master socket to this whenever you have a fault on the line YOU WILL be charge as this is not a bt/ openreach master socket , go with the plug in filter in photo 2.
