Oh no poor Karen. I hate the people in charge so much for messing with this show. It wasn't as good without the results on tonight and I just know I'll see the results on the net every week before the Sunday show.

I know I could try to ignore spoilers and the net but why should I? I like reading the forum and I am always going to look at spoilers. Damn you BBC for making SCD not as good from now on!

I personally don't like Karen, but she has a really good nack of making her partners look fantastic on the dance floor. I can see why people would like her as she is a huge charcter.

The pink and black VW dress is on of my favs

I couldn't disagree more. Fair enough, in latin, she knows her stuff but I seriously don't think she's qualified to have an opinion on the ballroom... From a performance point of view, perhaps, from a technical point of view, definitely not.

And yes, I'm glad Karen's out. I don't understand why it's such a big problem. Are people so insecure in their own admiration that they can't let people express opposing opinions?
Fair enough, are Bruno, Craig or Arlene qualified to comment on ballroom, I don't really think they are.

There should be a ballroom judge, someone to comment on latin, and then 2 or so who concentrate on performance/musicality.

Surely the fact that they scored K&B lower meant that they had to save face and therefore eliminate the couple they had already written off as having no talent and little potential (in their opinions, not necessarily mine). That's what makes this system so farcical......
Totally agree here - how can the judges keep any credibility if they change their minds and vote to save the couple that only a few hours earlier they had judged were the worst dancers? Will be very interesting to see how this pans out.

I do think that having the results show on the next night tales all the excitement and tension out of it for the TV audience. Why they felt the need to do this after 4 series where it worked perfectly fine is beyond me. Even if they felt they HAD to make the dance-off a permanent thing, they still could have shown it live - after all, Dancing On Ice's result show is live and that has a skate-off in it.

Because the slate is meant to be wiped clean and they are meant to chose based soley on that one dance like Dancing on Ice so you won't always get the same result

Well , you could say that about any of the judges .
Len and Karen are judges and Karen judges all over the world .
Bruno , Craig and Arlene are not Ballroom or Latin dancers and cannot really make a considered judgment ; using your criteria , they are not qualified to have any opinion about any of the dances , except from a performance point of view.

It isn't Karen who is out ...it is her partner ! .

I have never understood the amount of vitriol liberally spread about when any discussion of Karen takes place .

I mean Karen and Lilia who are , in my opinion , the best female pros ........ and as I said I mean that in the widest sense of the word , both are witty , clever , funny and great in the training rooms and in their support of their partners .
Neither put themselves first and both always try to work to their partner's strengths and never seek to " show off " .
I'd say all the female pros are how you described there. For the record, Erin and Flavia and Nicole are all lovely and sweet and encouraging and amazing dancers, and I think far more of them than both Karen and Lilia.

But say what you like about them, I don't care if anyone hates the pros I adore, why should I? I love watching them dance and feel inspired by them, that's all that matters to me.

Ah! In that case take absolutely no notice at all of my previous post.

It's been a long day.

This thread scares me - anyone would think Cat had posted a page long rant about how glad she was Karen went. She made a simple statement, followed with a dig at herself to show it was lighthearted . . .

jeez the world has had a humour bypass tonight.

Some people like karen, some dont. . . . both groups are entitled to state their opinion . . . .

xx

Point taken, but thats why we have Len. I could go on really and roll off a million and one reasons but at the end of the day this argument is pointless. Both our opinions are valid and neither is going to convince the other that their's is "more correct" therefore we should just let it rest I reckon. Waste of energy on both parts. I don't like Karen so I wouldn't want her as a judge. You like her, so you would. Nothing more to it really...

totally agree Cat - Nicole definitely has achieved more than Lilia and beaten her and Darren with matt many times

But given the comments they were dishing out at judging, I'm sure their minds were made up already, irrespective of how the dance-off went. It will be interesting to see how the 2nd performances turned out

Yes Im sure people are inspired by her but it certainly does not make her some kind of god not to be critiicised or indeed disliked by some people

Forums should be about all opinions and not just the ones you agree with

My thoughts exactly which is why this was always a bad bad idea!

Sad to see that all the nastiness has started already- I don't get taught by any of the dancers so have an open mind each season but I do feel sad that people have to be so nasty to each other on here.

New winners please folks and then there can be no more calls of favouritism- simple!

I am totally delighted Nicole and Flavia look to have a better chance this year and I am aware both of them are lovely , I have it on very good authority .

I suppose we all observe different things in the partnerships .

Feline , Oh how much I agree .There is no need for it .

Please don't patronise me. I do infact know what you mean, I just wish people had a bit more tact and respect for other people's opinions on here.

I may find Karen a bit OTT at times, but I respect her for who she is, and I definitely would not post messages such as "OMG I'm so glad blah blah is gone..I really hate them"

its sad this place always turns so nasty when any critiicism made, I give this place a try for a few weeks usually and then stay exclusively over on the blue but looks like this year will be all time record way things are going on the threads
