Not the spoilers themselves, but people posting about the result, as reported; I'm still hoping that it's just rumour control (though I guess this is just a bit of self-delusion), & the arguments that have arisen.

I block spoilers, & only found out what had been said from postings elsewhere.

Personal choice really. I prefer to have things as if they were still being revealed on the night, but the fallout of this particular thread is preading far & wide throughout the forum.

I don't disapprove of curiosity; I intended to show that the the remark about the caves & mamoths was intended as being tongue in cheek, but the emotions aren't working for me, for some unknown reason. Without it we wouldn't even have the Internet & thus no forum.

It's just that by the very fact that the result was posted, even as a spoiler, it was guarenteed to be revealed to everyone that annoys me.

people were asking for it and it seemed easier than sending hundreds of pms.

Thought the fact it said spoiler was okay but I agree about posting stuff in other threads.

You're right to be pissed off and I am genuinely surprised to find that some would be inconsiderate enough to discuss it in other threads without even using spoiler tags.

In the American Idol forum the result is known before we see the show and yet everyone manages to avoid it if they wish just by those who know using some common courtesy.

I'm disappointed to read that some people are ALREADY accusing the result of being a fix by the judges to keep a certain couple in for a specific reason.

I think the right couple left tonight as the other couple danced better, hence receiving higher scores earlier in the show. Kenny might not have as much personality and he was very stiff, but he hit some lovely lines, had good footwork throughout and wasn't relying upon Ola so much to guide him. I think he was genuinely the better dancer and he could have been a lot better in the dance-off. It's disappointing when your favourite leaves and I really feel for Karen fans, (I love her as well) but that doesn't mean the result was a fix.

Okay, so the right couple went IMO, but I'm still angry at the way the beeb has decided to have the results show on the sunday when it was pre-recorded on the saturday.

Admittedly, I could have simply stayed away from the forum, but even if I did, the excitement would have gone for me by sunday evening.

Isn't this new sunday results thing something to do with ratings against the X-Factor? If so, why? It wasn't like this last year, and the BBC beat ITV in the ratings almost every week (gonna have to check though to be sure).

If it aint broke, it don't need fixing. Too bad some bigwig at the BBC didn't take that on board.

I do think some of what is posted is tongue in cheek .
As the weeks go on we will be able to see if the couple who leave are selected on the merits of the dance off and not on previous dances or how they may progress given a chance .
I wouldn't have said either of the celebrities in the bottom two was the weakest tonight .

Someone has to go each week and it isn't always who we may think is the right celebrity to leave .
What is very interesting is that it has all been about the pro dancer tonight, and not the celebrity . He has hardly had a mention !
For myself , I would always feel the need to show support if unfair or unpleasant criticism is levelled at dancer or celebrity and unfortunately I do feel that happens far too often .

We can at least try to respect each other's opinions

Well who knows now that BBC 1 are going to be getting a new boss maybe they might decide to put it back to normal.

My bottom two were exactly who I thought would be in the bottom two. I am a Karen fan, and disappointed she went as I find her to be less "clinical" than some of the others in personality terms, and I love her enthusiasm. However, even if she stayed tonight she would not have lasted much longer. I will enjoy her pro dances all the same, and I think she will probably feature on ITT a fair bit.

I am thrilled that Nicole and Flavia have much better partners this year. Nicole always seem to get the duff ones.

Also I don't think Lilia has a brilliant partner this year for those people who said she always gets the young ones. Dominic doesn't look that young to me. Don't know how old he is, maybe he has had a hard life I realise he is not a "old" as the likes of Willie Thorne, but he is no Ghetin either. I thought he was hillarious though.

Well I think that the dance off was between the right tow couples.

WOuldn't mind betting that the one who would have gone if things had been left well alone was Kenny - Karen's fans would probably have kept her and Brian in, leaving Kenny & Ola with the lowest vote.

I'm not a Karen fan (but I don't hate her either), but TBH she had a partner whose heart wasn't really in it this year, and as has been pointed out - the show is about the celeb learning to dance - not the pro!

I enjoyed the show, hate two piece ballroom dresses so Ola dont do it again. Some have slated Lilia quite a bit, not sure why as she doesnt choose her partners, I think its the way she teaches she gets the best out of her celeb, nothing to do with young or anything (although he doesnt look young to me) and Dom has one big personality.
We are all here to enjoy scd, i like o read others opinions as its good we all have different but find it silly when you start slagging off coz you think they are lucky.

I think Alesha is a top contender with Penny. I like Penny she came across well so I hope she does well, or will some kick off coz Ian has been in the final twice before??

I don't see the problem with a spoiler thread or it being discussed in other threads as this is a discussion board - if you really don't want to know the result don' t log on to the forum until after the results show. Easy!

Interesting. This was what was expected when the BBC went for the results show on a Sunday. I expect it will get worse.

Brian and Kenny were deservedly in the bottom 2. Much as I looking at the beautiful Ola, Karen is clearly a better dance teacher so I would say that her and Brian should have stayed. It's also possible that the public votes had her and Brian behind, Kenny and Ola given her success last year.

A great post, that says it all. I don't hate Karen either, I just get fed up of all the adoration she gets on here,she is just another pro dancer not an icon for gawd sakes . :yawn:

Absolutely, Endemoniada. Avid Mark and Karen fan from day 1 last year and thought that Karens' relatively huge fanbase would keep her and the old duffer in for 3-5 weeks.

And though sad to see her leave, on the evidence of last night Karen/Brian were correctly placed in the bottom two.

However, my support of Karen does not blind me to the fact that others prefer to lend their support to some of the other professionals/celebs, and would rather see Karen/Brian leave than their own individual objects of desire/lust/craving. I, myself, would usually be pleased to see Brendan booted out on his ass, but his exit this year would also mean the demise of the buxom and curvacious Kelly. An irritating dilemma to be in.

And it irks me that a rather innocuous subjective opinion posted on an 'appreciation free' thread can lead to the lambasting of the poster by my fellow Karen fans. Accusations of the poster (and like minded DS posters) being childish, or spreading vitriol and hate/nastiness are just so laughably preposterous.

I'm with you Endemoniada, this is not an apreciation thread so people (within DS guidelines) are free to express opinions on who and what they do and don't like. Just don't castigate someone for not liking your favourite - now that is childish!!!

Thanks to Little Miss for posting this thread, I stayed up wanting to now and I am glad there is a way to find out, I did not want to wait til tonight.
