its a disgrace. with all this supposed honesty we have now with the BBC, we get this pre-recorded driven just to fill an empty timeslot!

IMO neither show was slickly produced this week, and sorry, but Brucie was just sounding sad when he attempted to interview Claudia and couldn't find the words.

Yes it is in the Rules on the website .

I thought the show was far too long winded. If the BBC are hoping to beat Emmerdale and Coronation St on a Sunday night*, they're vastly mistaken. Vastly.
Are you listening BBC? You should leave the results show for Saturday night, same as it used to be.

*Yeah, not this week because of the rugby; but normally, I mean.

I think the Beeb have shot themselves in the foot on this. Oh well, at least Simon Cowell and his Merry Wo/Men will be happy.

Well anyone who was fooled into thinking that was live will be surprised to see Kenny in Paris commenting on the Scotland match on ITV right now.

What a longwinded and unnsuccessful new method of losing one couple!
What a palava! Are we gonna go through this every week?
It works on DOI - does not work here. ”

I think it would work better, if they incorporated it into the old show format, i.e. all on the one night rather than broadcast over two nights. The tension and excitement didn't carry over for me and that was before I knew for sure that it had been pre-recorded, I can understand why they filmed it on the one night from a financial aspect, but I don't understand the charade of pretending it was live.

I think this way makes it very drawn out as you said, and i think that's why some of the tension and excitement has gone for me.

Disappointing start, for me in that respect at least, some exciting looking couples and i'm excited about seeing how they develop, but I don't think I’m going to enjoy this series as much.

God, I sound like a right whinger don't I?

From the BBC site:
Quote:
“The bottom two couples will then face a dance–off leaving the judges to decide – based solely on that performance alone – who should stay and who should go.”

I can't believe Craig saved Brian! I thought the whole point of the dance off was to wipe the slate clean and go from that performance only. If they're going to go on potential, no-one needs to dance again.

It didn't affect the result tonight, but it might in the future. Someone should remind Craig of the rules!

Definitely, she's just nauseating and pathetic to watch.

I wasn't paying too much attention to the second dances in the dance off, it's a waste if you know who's going.
On the plus side I did get a seconds rush of excitement when they announced the next couple going through were "Matt and.... " thinking they'd say "Matt and Lilia"
I feel like Pavlov's Dog

It didn't work did it? It wasn't even that I saw the spoiler, it's that there was no tension with the count down to vote lines closing...Glad I didn't bother voting. Not sure I will.

yup, agreed.

and i really think a big problem lies with the presenters. presenters either tie a show together or let it fall apart. im sorry but Bruce, as sweet an old man as he is, just hasnt got it anymore, he may be used to live shows and all that, but he makes mistakes when he delivers his lines, stumbles, regularly appears lost for words, or unable to locate the right words, and stuff he says makes me cringe when he's trying to be funny, it just isnt funny. but honestly, i think they need a younger host who's a bit more quick and brings warmth and humour its really lacking.

tess aint much better, her interviewing style is pretty bad, and it seems like she has to force them to say anything. and her and bruce dont have any chemistry, in the show last week on the couch, i didnt even get vibes he particularly liked her.

Well , it has been mentioned on another thread today and maybe we need a thread entitled :
" Is this the end of the line for SCD ?"

We know Claudia reads the forum ,maybe the BBC will get the message .

Let's face it, Arlene has never been noted for being the most tactful of the judges, but her complete lack of any professionalism or decency in her comments regarding many of the previous contestants/winners is really beginning to grate.

good point, because going off the two performances, it was pretty clear who's was better. i really think he saved brian because of karen, and soley because of her, rather than Brian having more potential.

Quite enjoyed watching two days running, and not particularly bothered that it is not live on Sunday. I just love the show, and seeing the progress made by the contestants.

Yes, I agree. Brian made a hash of the dance-off, and Craig saved him. Not correct at all.

People keep saying this, but it isn't the case.

DWTS Results Show goes out live the following evening, and the bottom 2 do not dance off and the Judges don't choose. It actually works well for the US as it's such a big country on 3 timezones. Ours doesn't need to be 24 hours later, though I agree the new format might work if it was all live on one night. It might be alot less longwinded.

So all the claims that we going to have more dancing with a longer results show, all that's happened is that the Judges and Bruce are umming and ahhing more to fill up time.
