Just wondering if anyone could assist me with the 40"LCD above....

Had this television for a few days and as you do I have begun to play with the settings (picture/display)... I have selected the custom setting and started to mess with a few bits..

I have had a quick look on the web what the best settings are but can't find anything in depth.

Any ideas or pointers?

Thanks

They are personal settings, so you set them for your personal requirements.

You might try seeing which of the preset ones you like best, writing the values down, and setting custom to be the same - then 'twiddle' from there.

However, I would suggest you don't get too 'carried away', because you will end up adjusting every programme seperately, and never get to watch anything.

Sounds like a plan.....

Changing the subject.. How annoying is it when you change your tv you seem to want/have to change your whole set-up?

I have no Dig Coax (in) connection on my DVD-HC system nor a Dig optical (in).... I am using Sky+ and PS3 etc both which have Dig optical out. The T.V. also has Dig optical out.. Confused on my options really!!!?!!??!

My plans are to upgrade to newer HC system with Dig optical in and connect the T.V. direct using this connection. Then disable the T.V's speakers and run everything through the T.V. / HC system... Will I lose any quality this way and will this work?

Or is there any options with the kit I currently have?

The T.V. is as above Sony KDL40X2000

The current DVD/HC system Panasonic SA-HT520

Here is the link for the DVD/HC System....

After looking at this I should be able to connect the TV to the DVD/HC system via the audio out (RCA connections).. This will be in place of the optical... Hmmmmm

Will I lose any quality this way? Please help

It will feed stereo audio to the system, no surround - but your audio system should have settings to give s pseudo-surround sound from a stereo source.

Hmmmm Thanks Nigel...

If you were in my shoes what would you do? Upgrade?

After spending all that dough on a quality LCD it makes sense to run the dig optical (out) from the TV to a "new" Sony or A.N other HC System with a dig optical (in) connection... Hopefully this will give 5.1 s/sound?
