Was Strictly Come Dancing meant to be live tonight or was it recorded earlier tonight?

I Saw Kenny Logan on the show and now he is in Paris on ITV with the rugby.

The show only ended 15 minutes ago so he could not have got to the studio in Paris in 10 mins.

Have the British public been fooled again or was it recorded last night and shown today

I can't remember if they referred to it being live - they referred to it as being Sunday, but that's no different to any show that's recorded on one night and shown on another - Jonathan Ross, Have I Got News for You, etc.

No I agree - it was just some people in the SCD forum said they were referring to it 'as live'. If they just said it was Sunday then I see no problem with it - I'd probably have more of an issue if they explicitly said it was 'live' when it wasn't but it seems this wasn't the case.

Ah right. I wasn't sure if they had said it was live as I was only half listening! I think the BBC are probably extra careful about this sort of thing at the moment after all the smacked wrists they've had recently!

IMO this new-style format is naff. The padding is horrendous. I much preferred the immediacy of the results on Saturday. Is it going to be like this until the end or will they change it after the Rugby Cup final when ITV goes back to the soap hour from 7 to 8? They will not gain any viewers against the soaps. People will probably record the show or won't watch as the result will probably be leaked online...

For now, the format is intended to be permanent. However, if it's not a success then I can definitely see them moving back to having both shows on the same night.

I too, hate the idea of it being on a Sunday the whole essence of Strictly is that anything can go wrong at any time like mic-gate last year. Theres no edge to it as you know it could easily be edited out, I hope it's thrashed by TXF in the ratings.

The BBC says it's a permanent decision, but I agree with you, they will fail against the soaps. It's a new style *family entertainment programming across the weekend* and apparantly ITV are thinking of doing the same with Dancing on Ice. They should be warned they'll kill their most successful show if they do.

Far too much padding, IMO.

They got away with it this week because of the lack of soaps on ITV, but once the regular schedule returns they may suffer.

People will find out the results for themselves before the Sunday results show, so the whole thing will be rather anti-climactic.

Exactly. How many times do we have to see re-runs of their performance? Why they shouldn't be voted off, etc. It was OK on Saturdays (just about) as you got involved in the whole package, but to drag it out over 2 days, NO!!! They really must go back to the old format in 2 weeks, and have an after show on BBC3.

It's a move which may backfire in the long-run.

Did we really need to see Mark and Karen's dance yet again?? They won the previous series - now it's time to move on.

They always have the last year's winners doing a guest dance and it was great. This year's contestants have a lot to live up to!

No they don't. When have they ever done before?

You must be confused with the Christmas Special, but never on the regular show.

I must admit I'm sick of "hot hot hot" I now find it "dull, dull, dull". I was hoping they'd do something new but I guess Karen just did not have the time to choreo' something fresh.
Shame she's lots of time till xmas now!
