A big NAY !!!!

I think it's a cruel format from BBC, dancing to leave.

And somehow the exitement is gone now the judges decide and not getting the result show immediately after voting. It was almost boring. ( exept Salsa )

A big Nay from me aswell!

Don't like the judges vote - what's the point if Len has the deciding vote?

And, as I said in another thread, I had a feeling they were going to do something like this after the Spoony/Georgina result last year.

As for the results being on Sunday, there isn't the same excitement as watching it live. People won't be as interested in watching it on Sunday if they can still find out the result on Saturday night anyway.

Most definite NAY from me to.

There is no point in the sunday show, why insult our intelligence by pretending its going out on Sunday night.

I voted all the way through the last series, but there's just no point this time, if the judges can over-ride the majority vote.

Nay!

The 'this is all live on Sunday' not withstanding Bruce and Tess may have got changed - the audience all wearing the same clothes and sat in the same place!

Pro dance
Mark and Karen
Group Dance
Music Guest
Results - Finally

I like Mark and Karen don't get me wrong but it just added to an already drawn out process

Go back to Saturdays and shorten it PLEASE

Len only has the deciding vote if the judges votes are tied. A logical enough way of dealing such a situation.

Anyway. The Sunday show is a disaster for reasons already laboured in this forum thus far. I have so much goodwill for Strictly that it pains me to conceed negative feelings towards it but tonight was such a tedious PLOD. You really have to be a dance enthusiast to lap up all these extra pro dances. I respect that lots of people in this forum care primarily about dance, but i suspect the majority of us viewers actually enjoy SCD for more general reasons and find it something of a chore to sit through routine after routine from the pros. I'd had it by the time Michael Buble came on. I actually switched channels for 3 minutes and i've never done that in 4 series! I just couldn't stomach some naff Radio 2 crooner by that stage.

If they MUST do it on a Sunday, knock it down to 20 minutes.

A disappointing result show, a big nay from me too

There were quite a lot of things that really grated me about this show, and it's not just the whole pretence of the sunday show being 'live':

1. The views of the audience should have been re-titled the views of the 'celebrities' - at least with DWTS the american public get to air their views on the dancing and not just the celebrities that were there.

2. The group dance was a little disappointing - it wasn't because of the actual dancing, it was because they seemed to have very little space on the floor to move around in. They looked too squashed in with all 14 couples on the floor and I'm sure there were some people that bumped into each other during that dance! It would have been better if they had 7 couples on, and then change to the next 7 couples half way through the song so everyone can get a chance to dance well without worrying about bumping into someone.

3. With the result show being extended to make way for more dancing, IMO that didn't happen. I don't think the professional dancers showcase was extended or had another pro dance showcase which was a big disappointment, also the guest singer slot with the pro dancers took exactly the same amount of time as it did last year. The only bonus was Mark Ramprakash's Salsa and the terrible idea for a dance-off well, I already seen it once why do I have to see it again 24 hours later? My memory isn't that bad!

4. How embarrassing was the final bit where the judges say who is leaving. It's bad enough them having the final say but they're adding insult to injury by making a big, drawn-out speech about it as well It was way over the top especially with that music! They should have just said the name and that was it, but no they had to be made to feel important. Also, I would have liked to have known who was really at the bottom of the overall table, after all we do actually pay money to vote the least the BBC could do was tell us who the voters were actually getting rid of.

Just watched it and I thought it was actually pretty appauling to be honest

I will say a couple of positives before I bascally do a CRH and hold up a big fat 0!

- I like the fact that its on both nights, give us something to watch all weekend! And if it werent live, there would be great tension

- I like the fact that theres more of the tense elimination music ( its always stuck in my head during the week.....how sad am I? )

errr think thats all I like!

- I hate how its all recorded, SO pointless

- I hate how the judges have so much power now, especially with the fact that all 3 judges need to vote against Len to over ride his vote.

- I hate how its not so original that was always the best about SCD, it was original and is now taking things from the X factor

- I hate how its a bit drawn out (a lá DWTS)

- I hate how I dont really like it anymore

All in all I dont like "Strictly Come Dancing With The X Stars Factor"

As promised

*holds up a paddle with 0 a lá CRH*

I have a feeling that the results show may return to saturday very soon. Surely it wouldnt be difficult as all they would have to do is broadcast live what we see on the sunday?

It is incredibly patronising to the audience with all the sunday references and talk of "last nights dances". Fair enough if they want to record the results show but don't insult our intelligence by pretending its live. Its deception on a par with Cookie the Cat!

Top notch post..agree 110% with all you said.

The BBC do read these boards I believe, and so far only a few people think the changes are good.

And the whole Sunday night thing is just stupid....go on the net and you can find out who won before the show...and like I said, if it was to garner votes, maybe we could buy it, but it isn't! So why do it!?!

I hope the powers that be take note. I always ALWAYS vote on SCD as do all my family. We won't be this year until we know that our votes count.

defo a big no from me.
not only do i have to watch it for 2 evenings instead of 1 big scd night, i also think that it loses the flow and the excitement.

it makes it worse that we can get spoilers and find the results- nothing wrong with getting the spoilers but the live appeal has totally gone out of it.

really peeved with bruce and tess saying 'last night' too, when it's a damn lie and they mean a few hours earlier!

i now have scd 7 days a week, i feel that the theme tune will seriously do me husbands head in well before christmas.

wish bbc would change their mind...

Although you have to keep in mind that a whole season's scheduling strategy has been shaped by this decision. Yes, it can be reversed, but it won't happen quickly.

And anyway. Despite our complaints, i suspect the ratings will be rather healthy for the results show and that, i'm afraid, is the vindication they will be looking for....

Nay from me....doesn't work with the judges, as Len has too much power.

They should go with the lowest audience vote if the judges tie....

Sorry if I've got this wrong, I missed last nights show and not sure about the format... But doesn't the public's vote save couples from being in the bottom 2, therefore not being at the mercy of the judges ? Surely that means it does count if you vote - you don't want your fave to be in the bottom 2.

I agree with others, it is really annoying with them saying 'last night'. Just because Tess changes her dress, we're not fooled.
Its getting a bit too much like the american one.

Nay from me too.
It all looked strained and rather desperate.

As Kenneth Williams used to say:

Be interesting to know about the voting renue too - if that drops too much I guess they won't be too happy.

And they could always do what they did last year - just repeat the Saturday show on the Sunday evening to fill the hole!

Big fat Nay from me!

Knew the result from here (reckon we'll find out most weeks too!) so ended up flicking and only watching the dances and cutting the rest of the long drawn out rubbish!

It was great when they did that, if I missed it on a Saturday I could just avoid the newspapers and enjoy all the excitement on the repeat. I hope it changes back. I really can't believe that they'd mess with such a great format.

Yes true on both counts....it was the first Sunday show so we did tune in....but how many will do so next week ? I won't for one...!

SCD is the best show the Beeb have had for years, and then they stumbled upon it. It was only for CIN but we the public took to it...unlike other celeb CIN shows like the show jumping thing !

After getting hold of SCD what do the Beeb do go and spoil it !! Hopefully they will change back to a second shorter show on a Saturday night as previous years...but don't hold your breath....TV Executives don't like to admit when they are wrong !!

And boy have they got this WRONG !!!!!

Put it this way...If its on Sunday, then I'll record it, skip all but the new dances (maybe) and the results, and condense 50mins into about 15....

Another Nay!

Far too much padding. The viewers will soon lose interest in dragging out a result that people will probably find out beforehand anyway.

Once the ITV soap hour returns next week then ratings may suffer.

If its the same time every week - 6.45pm - then lots of viewers will be lost to Emmerdale imo

I know that thats how it will happen in our house anyway
