Long yawning NAY from me too!

Thank God for PVR.

And yes, it's a nicely controlled plan up to the final. But that's what we pay for folks.

Have to agree, love the Saturday show but the Sunday effort had filler written all over it. It's obviously an attempt to make a hit show prop up the ratings on two nights instead of just Saturday.

The new voting system is an insult to the viewers. They should decide - they've made the show the phenomenon it is.

Finally the costume change done by Tess and bruce was a clear attempt to deceive the audience into thinking the Sunday show was live. This is not acceptable in the current climate at the Beeb, and we will doubtless see changes.

I don't mind the results show being on a Sunday it means I get a Strictly fix every night of the week.....and in this instance I think the right person did go....marginally! Altho not sure how this might work in future weeks.

However, I do object to the huge lets pretend this is really Sunday night palava!!

Definitely nay - if the beeb wants to broadcast on a Sunday they should show pro dances (which can be pre-recorded) and which would definitely draw in the viewers and boost their ratings - but as has been said may times - don't try and pretend that its live.....

It's a definite NO from me, tried to watch the Results programme, got annoyed when they made out that it was "Sunday", and promptly gave up (having seen the result on the internet early Sunday morning anyway). And the voting - again a big NO NO NO.

I really do hope that the viewing figures for the Results show crash through the floor, and them maybe the BBC will realise that it was a really bad move.

A big nay from me, too.

I pine for series two which was the best in my opinion(I missed series one). Steadily, there has been a drip drip drip as the BBC pad and extend the programme.

I have no probs with Bruce, but all this inane chatter with the "audience" and blah blah blah is just one big turn off.

The dance offs with the bottom two is just more padding and I really dislike that. The judges giving a final vote with, like someone mentioned before, the other three judges having to ALL vote against len to make a difference is a rubbish idea - you may as well just ask Len and not bother with the others, because I seriously doubt he is going to come up with one dancer when the others have all agreed on another.

The Sunday night programme is a total and utter waste. By Sunday night all the excitement of Saturday has worn off. I particularly disliked the pretence that the show was actually live. I was quite angry about that because to me it was obvious - the bbc is hardly going to try and recreate the previous nights audience (real people and slebs), get the dancers back, the contestants back, the judges...etc etc etc

And yet my husband and mum both thought it was live at first because it was portrayed that way. And I find that making fools out of people by lying to them in this manner does not endear me to the bbc who are already in enough trouble. There must be some kind of moron in charge to think doing this was okay. I find it extremely patronising.

I won't be watching the results show again, after all it's easy enough to find out the loser by going online.

The BBC have, I think, gone a couple of steps too far this time.

A big fat NAY from me - on Sunday the dancing was great - (especially Mark and Karen) apart from no Anton except for the first dance - but far too much filler. A lot of it was a yawnfest, especially as I knew the result.

An absolute nay from me. Could they possibly have dragged it out any longer? And why nor just ask Len who he wants in as it seems his is the only opinion that counts?

I loved seeing Mark and Karen dance again but really, otherwise a waste of time.

Nay I am afraid

No suspense at all and it was really stupid of them to act like it was live on Sunday.

I agree. I know some people think this makes the voting more worthwhile (and that was the message that Tess and Bruce kept giving us). But I think it makes it more a waste of time. Our influence is much reduced.

I wonder, regardless of viewing figures, if the voting figures will be affected. Would the bbc give out such info (freedom of information?).

Not a fan of this new format. Thank goodness a lot of us have PVR's and can cut this down to 10 minutes.

I don't know if there is usually a separate thread for ratings, but here they are for the Results show:

ITV1's The X Factor beat returning BBC1 rival Strictly Come Dancing by 600,000 viewers in the battle of the talent shows last night.

In the first of the Sunday night showdowns, The X Factor drew 7.4 million viewers and a 32% share between 6.45pm and 7.45pm in an instalment which revealed the 12 finalists, according to unofficial overnights.

On BBC1 between 6.45pm and 7.35pm, Strictly Come Dancing attracted 6.8 million and a 29% share.

Ah yes, I see. But that does sort of mean that only Len really has a vote - the other votes mean nothing unless they happen to agree with Len - right? To my mind it would only be fair if they had a fifth judge to cast a deciding vote if needed.

The average audience for last years results shows were over 8million viewers.

I was a little bored with the results show frankly...but to be fair I did know the result in advance.

Maybe I'll try to avoid the spoilers next week to see if it makes any difference.

Hi Everyone, I have been a member for quite a while but have done most of my posting on the Dancing on ice Forum I do however enjoy Strictly come dancing and have watched it since series 2.

I am going to add nay to the changes as well, I prefer to see the results later on saturday night, and the new Judging system leaves me perplexed. What would happen in the event of a 2-2 tie, The system works on dancing on ice because there are 5 Judges.

I was diapointed to see karen and Brian go out, Karen was fighting back the tears before they had even done the "dance off"

Len has 2 votes in effect - or in the event of a tie his vote counts double.
The only way he can't get his way is if all the other 3 vote against who he thinks should stay.

Len has a casting vote which means that in the event of a tie whoever he votes for stays.

So if he had voted for Brian & Karen on Saturday to tie the votes, Kenny & Ola would have got the boot instead.

You could say that effectively Craig, Arlene and Bruno have one vote each but Len has one and a half.

^this is why I think Len should vote first. The others would then at least get a chance at having some influence.

A big NAY from me and Mrs Nasalhair.

It is good that the results show now lasts for an hour (more dancing, but I wish they didn't have a "special guest" along to plug their latest single or tour), but the killer is the fact that it is pre-recorded on the Saturday night. So easy to accidentally find out who was knocked out, therefore ruining the show.

I understand that the public they asked said they wanted the results show to feature more dancing, which is fine and I'm glad they've included this. However they also said that many people missed the results show as they were out, which begs the question why can't they video it or record it in some other way if they know they won't be at home? Alternatively why don't the BBC just show the results show live on Saturday night at 9 when it is recorded?

A big, big mistake.

A 'nay' from me too. I actually got bored waiting for the result and switched channels. Far too much "and what do the celebrities think of that, Tess?"

Horribly drawn out and it lost all the momentum of Saturday's programme. I only switched back for the closing credits to see who had left. Disappointed for Karen, but probably the best result. Though it would be fairer and more interesting if it was still down to the viewers' votes. That way you can see that we make a difference with each vote. I shan't be voting this year as it doesn't seem to matter whether I do or not really.

I don't think Strictly ever lost to Xfactor on a head to head until they got to the XF final. I wouldn't watch X Factor over Strictly but I can see in the coming weeks BBC losing viewers to X Factor on the main shows.
I'm undecided whether I like the changes or not but so many people aren't.

I would like the result show on the saturday night, but with the judges having the final say on the bottom two . I think that just had to happen, or we could lose some real celebs with potential... to the fan base pro's , like Barnacle Bill/Fiona P who imo wouldn't improve no matter how long they stayed.
