Campaign To Reinstate Results On Saturday Night

I for one will be emailing the BBC to complain about the results show being moved to Sunday nights and broadcast as though there were live, when in fact you could find out who left either by spoilers or as mum did while paying for her newspaper this morning Amazing how quickly Kenny got to Paris for the rugby after surviving the dance off !!!

With the show and results on Saturday night, you felt the tension in the lead up to the count down to when everyone found out who would be staying or going.

BIG mistake BBC - reinstate results to Saturday night

It's not a great idea. I wonder if the Beeb will come to regret the decision if people start to switch off.

If you go to the BBC SCD website there is a section called feedback, I will be voicing my dissatisfaction here. There is a BBC programmes complaint section as well but I'm not sure if that's appropriate, maybe just for giving the impression it was live when in fact it is recorded.

I'll definitely sign up. The show has just lost something for me. And I can add my mum and aunt to the campaign too as they both don't like the recorded results show either.

No I dont want them back on a Saturday, this would all be fine if it were just LIVE!!

It would be much more an event then other shows if it were for the weekend......

I would complain through the official complaints: I think the feedback section is supposed to be for issues with the website.

I'll join..I just wrote this elsewhere....

Will the BBC ever learn?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not really into politics on TV...but I do know the beeb have had a few probs with Blue Peter, etc....and have had a few people resign.

I know, as I come on here, that the show tonight was recorded yesterday. I know that people on here went to see the show and knew who went yesterday. I know it is not live. I could have found out on the net who went but chose not to look.

But....

Not everyone goes on the net.

SCD is one of those delightful old fashioned shows that put the 'oooomph' back into Saturday night telly. We all know the X facter is a bit fixed whether we like it or not.

I just came upstairs to watch the last bit of the rugby.

To see Kenny Logan commentating and see that he had been all night was so patronising to me as a 'lifelong' SCD fan.

The beeb are in hot water as it is. SCD is their most successful show pretty much.

Why patronise us all with lies of a live show tonight, and then have one of the people in the dance off, doing commentary on ITV.

It beggars belief! If you are a viewer who does not come on forums or the net..(alot of the SCD viewing public) and did not expect that...I think that is pretty ***** from the beeb tbh.

And this year they have a great line up on SCD....but at the end of the day we are the ones who vote and yet now have to rely on what the judges say or do.

Don't patronise us BBC...be loyal to your viewers as we are, and have been, to you.

So count me in.

I still can't get my head round why anyone would want to change a winning formula. I suspect they follow X Factor closely and saw that adding Dannii Minogue and changing the presenter to Dermot O'Leary appeared to increase the viewing figures.

Very interested in the viewing figures for the results show. I really hope they are low, at least it may encourage a possible early rethink at BBC towers.

yep very bad idea.. but you know, its only going to backfire in the BBC's direction and i hate to say it but im hoping X Factor got better ratings tonight so that they can see how wrong they are!

Count me in too

I found it hard to not look at spoliers and i don't like not being able to look at Strictly stuff on the web when the show finishes

Why do they have to change the format, why does the BBC feel inclined to copy ITV or DWTS USA.

Saturday nights was always an evening of two parts.

It loses so much of the excitement.

I still think the elimination should be down to the public.

PS -- Great to see Mark and Karen they were shucha great team.

We had serious misgivings when the announcement was made, now we've seen the actual show, it did not work at all. The BBC are spoiling their best show, and should take note of the fan's views. It has not been change for the better.

I agree that I prefer to have the results show on the same night, but I must admit that I like the idea of the results show being longer with the extra group dances being added.

I wondered if they were following the lead of the USA's Dancing With The Stars, but of course the American version of most reality shows (like American Idol) need to have a separate results show the following night to cover the problem of voting in all the different time zones.

I quite like the idea of the judges choosing who is leaving out of the bottom two, that way hopefully the bad dancers won't keep knocking the more decent ones out.

I'm in - it's silly to spread it over two nights unnecessarily, it spoils the excitement.

Last year they beat X Factor in the ratings, didn't they? They should have dug in and established it as the ratings leader, and let X Factor flap about flabbily on a Sunday night if they were so inclined. Bottom line: if it ain't broke (and is in fact on top form) don't fix it.

This is what I have just sent to the feedback via bbc website. I am also thinking of putting this message on the bbc website tomorrow but seeing as they keep an eye on it I don't think they will allow it but I will try tomorrow. Another thing I love the message boards here. I do think it is good that the bbc have a message board but I think it rubbish how it is not open for very long what do other people agree with me??? Anyway please find what I sent to the BBC feedback form.

I think moving the show to a Sunday is stupid why change the formula when it was working well before. How can you say it is live when clearly it is not as people who are in audience are same as saturday. As I am avid fan I am extremely unhappy that I can find out who has gone before Sunday show I know I should not look but I find I cannot wait until the Sunday.

I have the show on series link, and I was sort of excited to see this, so was going to watch it live, but in the end I waited until about 7:20 then put it on FF.

I couldn't be bothered with the group dance or Michael Buble. I do like him, but I don't want to see him here. I just want the outcome. The less of Tess Daly the better too I saw Mark and Karen dance and the results that was it. It took less than 10 minutes.

I think the beeb have messed this up. The judges voting made this a formality anyway. As soon as it was 2 to 1 for Kenny I knew Len would say Kenny too. He should have to state his choice first if they have to do it this way.

I think they have ruined it. Series link will always pick it up for me, but it seems missable now. There is no tension, no 'you've got 5 minutes left to ring' etc. The judges could kick out whoever I vote for anyway.

Not impressed with this. Still love the main show though.

They could get out of this disaster without losing too much face.

It was Peter Fincham's decision to move to Sundays, his resignation makes it easier to change back.

^ I was thinking/hoping that.

Hopefully someone can make a quick decision and we'll all soon forget this debacle.
