Strange goings on in the middle of the night.
Hi,
1:15 am sunday morning myself and the better half awake to hear a rather loud wailing noise. Turns out it was the phone making the noise they do whenever they are left off the hook for a certain period of time. What makes this strange is we arrrvied home at 11:30 after being out for the evening and there was no noise. We went to bed after midnight and it wasnt happening then. So what makes it strange is that this started happening after so long - esp as we didnt use the phone. It gets stranger though. We are currently using an old phone as we just got a new line and waiting on our new ones. The phone has what is called a "monitor" mode which is basically just a loupspeaker. This was on! The volume was reather loud! Now this monitor feature can only be activated by pressing a button on the phone. Any ideas why it took so long for it to start waling at us if one us had accidentally knocked it. And any ideas why or how the monitor feature could have become active? |

Do you have a cat?
Or particularly large spiders? Or possibly you dislodged it to the extent that it was almost 'off the hook' and vibration or change of temperature caused it to finally 'pick up'. |

Nope no cat or any other animals.
It would have to be very large spider to be able to press the "monitor" button down! |
