Should they move the show to Friday nights?

I just think it should be on a better slot. After all years ago, Friday nights used to have entertainment shows as well. Brucie's Generation Game was on Fridays at one time as well as Play Your Cards Right. This is how the schedule might go.

7.00 The One Show
7.30 Some local programme
8.00 EastEnders
8.30 Stricly Come Dancing
10.00 News

BBC Scotland could move River City to another day of the week.

Then maybe have the results on Saturdays.

Seriously, I think Friday night seems to be better than Saturdays. An 8.30pm slot looks to be a perfect time and a good way to start the weekend.

and no need to clash with the X on ITV.

Maybe the same if the X moved to Fridays and SCD on Saturdays.

That's quite a good idea cos then they could have the results show live on Sat as Len & Bruno don't fly till Sun. (Maybe they would find it a bit hard-going as they fly back on Weds but have to add 8 hours plus the flight which is 11 hours this would only give them a day to get over the jet-lag & at the mo they have two).
I quite liked the results show being on the next night, as we had more show dances which were great. I however hated the stupid pretence of them hamming up that it was supposed to be Sun, when everyone in the know already had the heads up it was recorded late Sat night.
Why could n't they just be straight & say this is the results show pre-recorded Sat but coming to you on Sun? Do they think we are all muppets???

Wouldn't it clash with Friday's ITT though? If the BBC can get around that, then I'm all for watching SCD on a Friday!

Or as I said in another post, move Robin Hood to the Sunday evening slot and then that will free up the space for the 'extended' SCD Results show!

Why not have 2 dances a night and string it out all week?

Don't give the BBC ideas! Saturdays was fine

If it ain't broke don't fix it!!

Or, alternatively, they could do what they do with the Gaelic shows on a Thursday, and just show River City instead of SCD... Wouldn't put it past them.

(Can you tell I'm not a fan of the BBC Scotland schedulers?)

I personally wouldn't like to see the show moved to Friday nights, Saturday as it is is a much better slot, plus it's more likely to get better viewing figures. I know there have been entertainment shows on Fridays over the years, and more so years ago, as with 3-2-1, Play Your Cards Right etc, but I say stick to Saturdays.

The other issue being that for those lucky enough to get to see the American version on UK Gold, that's on a Friday too.

No. Why meddle with a solid format?

They shouldn't try to drag the whole thing out across the weekend, IMO.

A lot of children watch SCD and a lot will be out on a Friday or have to get up early on Saturday for footie or whatever. No Saturdays is the better family viewing time.

Stick to Saturday, I say. Leave us one weekend night to be free to go out.
