The show in America only has three judges, Len, Bruno and Carrie Anne Inaba who is a dancer/actress.

The show is on Monday and Tuesday nights in the States and as far as I know Bruno and Len commute back and forwards, they did this last season as well.

Hi Maxxy,

Yes you're right. Len and Bruno are judging Dancing With the Stars as well as SCD.

DWTS is on Monday and Tuesday in the states, so basically, after SCD they fly to LA, and then fly back again. They've been doing it for a couple of years now.

Bruno even mentioned that they would be on a plane later on the show this weekend

Great minds think alike Quizmike

Actually it must be a grueling schedule for Len and Bruno if they leave after the UK show on Saturday, it doesn't give them much time to get themselves sorted after a pretty long flight for the Monday show in the US.

Len will be on the phone from LA, probably from his limo to fill in all the viewers on It Takes Two tonight.

I actually think it must be the main reason.

The "giving us time to make sure the phone vote is accurate" line is a nice add on. Oh, and of course it's cheaper not to have to bring back all the cast and crew for a second day.

In the states though, the results show is live

how strange having it on Mon and Tues. Not strange for them probably as they often have the best viewing in the week with less big shows at the weekend. But it would feel strange here!

In the first week of this season they had the women dance on Monday, the men on Tuesday, and the results show on Wednesday!

I think they called it their "Season Opening Three Day Spectacular". Or something

Wasn't that given as a possible reason for Len's tetchiness last year?

It must be a slog - and his mood did improve when DWTS had finished.

*shudders to think the reactions here if it was over 3 days*

I can see why though.. there are so many of them at the start, and its annoying having to wait another week to see the other group.

I looked it up & posted it on another thread yest. It takes just over 11 hours to fly to LAX from London but thankfully for them Hollywood is 8 hours behind us.
If they fly out midday Sunday from England they get to LAX approx' 3pm US time. That means they then have to collect their baggage, go through passport control etc & then get to their accomodation probably in time for a nice dinner & then a good nights sleep (if they can - jet lag can be a bug-ar).
I expect they have to be on set quite early Mon to do run throughs & talk to producers etc. Quite a slog really but I expect they have lots of lackeys & are treated like royalty. (Not to mention I'm assuming the fantastic pay ).

........and I daresay they fly 'first class' too so have all the additional comforts at their disposal en-route.

The judging in the American version is far more lenient than here in the UK. Last night's judging was all over the place with the female judge penalising a contestant for doing what she saw as a lift (even though video evidence showed both feet on the ground) and then pointing out a lift by another contestant but choosing to ignore it in her marks.

Len, who usually is the first to complain about lifts totally ignored all the so called lifts last night and seemed to accept them.

You are right about Len. But that Italian man is Bruno's evil twin.

Or maybe we have the evil twin this year...

I'm not sure of the exact date but last night was only the fourth week and after tonight's elimination there will still be 8 couples left so probably another 6 weeks to go.

When DWTS started (after Strictly) it was shown in January/February time, which meant that it was no problem for Len & Bruno to agree to do both shows. However, it proved such a popular series that the US later decided to have 2 series a year, which obviously is a problem. I know that Len tried to get out of his US contract (& possibly Bruno as well) but their contracts were too watertight, so they are lumbered with the 2 series at the same time!!

2 series a year I do love SCD but if that ever happened over here, I think it would be overload!
Do they have an ITT type programme over there during the days DWTS isn't on?
