Hi all: Once again BBC Scotland has ignored ITT fans in Scotland. There's a gaelic programme on Thursday nights as in previous years.

If you are with Virgin Media then BBC2 England can be found on 862. Sorry, don't know what Sky is or if Freeview offers it.

Gah, I really hate the fact we get stuck with the Gaelic programmes during ITT. Couldn't they put the Gaelic stuff on instead of Eggheads or whatever rubbish quiz is on before ITT? I'm somewhat relieved to hear that it's Thursday night though because it's been mentioned a few times that Mark and Karen are meant to be on on Wednesday (at least I think I read that) and I had it in my head that it was Wednesday we were missing.

You can get in on Sky 989, 991 and 992

It's almost worth paying £30 a month for! So unfair that they don't repeat it or even have it on the red button option. BBC, sort it out, for the sake of we poor, deprived Scots, who don't have fancy satellite thingies!

I wish I had known last year that I could get BBC2, but am a bit slow on the old digital technology. I won't be missing it this year

I pay £21.....There are cheaper packages available. Check out the Sky website or give them a ring and tell them you want the cheapest deal that gives you the English Channels. We have the same problem in Wales but in our case ITT isn`t one of those programs we miss

Just bumping for those Scots who might not have seen this thread yesterday --it had slid to page 2.

Don't forget that the legend that is maltipom is uploading ITT to youtube every night.

La Rhumba --- We are indeed greatful to the wonderful Maltipom her swift posting of the ITT clips.

It's just not the same as being able to watch the programme when it's on air. I'm lucky I've got cable but it's infuriating that BBC Scotland continues to be so pig headed about the whole thing.

Definitely! Either that or she's been posting the links in Greytop's Everything SCD Thread , which is like the reference thread for all things SCD during the whole series.

I watched yesterday's show last night courtesy of malitpom, she's been putting up the clips so promptly, and it's a real godsend if you miss the show and have no recorder. The quality is great too!!

I complained to BBC Scotland last week and this is the somewhat disingenuous reply I received:

"Unfortunately, due to the nature of the programme, which uses phone voting lines at the time of transmission, BBC Scotland cannot transmit this programme due to our commitment to our Gaelic output. We apologise to viewers for this and we are looking at the scheduling arrangements for such programmes."

Anybody any idea what these phone voting lines are?

Maybe they are referring to the competition to get tickets for SCD, where you have to phone in, but isn't that on a Friday? There are no phone lines needed on a Thursday. I feel really sorry for all of you in Scotland!

The BBC's reply makes no sense in any case.

Phone lines wouldn't stop them from showing it at another time.

Plenty of shows that have phone-ins or phone votes are reshown at other times.

So if the BB can't show it at its normal time in Scotland, it could still show it at another time.

I work for a magazine and that is almost exactly what we say when we reply to readers' letters asking us for things we have no intention of providing!

I can't beieve they are still dragging out the same excuse they've used for the last two years!

With regards to the SCD tour ---they are opening in Glasgow and they are putting on three shows --- do you think they'd be doing that if there wasn't an audience for it? This just adds proof that BBC Scotland is run by totally arrogant people who have absolutely no regard for what viewers want. The gaelic programme could very easily be on 30 minutes later or at the least they could show ITT in another time slot.

Maybe it's time to start a publicity campaign by taking it to the newspapers and magazines? No one is saying there shouldn't be gaelic programmes but it shouldn't be at the expense of a programme that goes out nationwide, Monday to Friday. Perhaps more aggressive means of complaint is required?

Think maybe the Beeb has struck first blow - saw an advert somewhere (first time ever!) about the fresh, innovative Gaelic show about Europe called Eropa (Spelling?!)
I had never seen any ads for the Gaelic stuff except for trailers on Beeb until a couple of days ago. Suspicious - Conspiracy? Could be.

I've never seen any ads for Gaelic programmes either! They've got to put on a 'quota' of gaelic programming, as does STV, but they could be more sensitive about the timing of their programmes. I mean, really, how many viewers does the gaelic programme get in comparison to ITT?

Should there be a sepearte Gaelic channel. The there won't be any trouble

Just out of interest, and sorry to be ignorant as a non Scot, but how many Scottish people actually speak Gaelic. I know many Welsh people still do, but wasn't aware it was a major language north of the border?
