People from the West of the country speak the languege. The have a yearly Mod singing contest at Oban every year. BBC Scotland will be showing that next week.

There is! TeleG is on Channel 8 in between BBC3 and BBC4. And guess what? It shows an hour of Gaelic programmes from 6 to 7 each evening! Scheduling clash, d'oh!

Amytigger ---- not many! Actually, I admire the Welsh for keeping their language alive and part of their national identity. There's probably more Gaelic speakers living in Glasgow than elsewhere.

Both BBC and STV have to broadcast a percentage of both Scottish (plus Regional) and Gaelic programmes it's just a pity that they won't compromise re ITT. No one (well not many) objects to Gaelic programming but it could be shown on Thursday after ITT -- the viewing figures for ITT have got to outweigh the numbers for Gaelic programmes.

Just read a post on the BBC board which says that ITT will be on on Thursday in Scotland. Is that true? If so, well done and hope you enjoy it!

I was thinking of starting a thread about this today but was beaten to it by MacH lol.

Its just so frustrating isnt it, I mean why show a prog that goes out 5 times a week if you are only going to show it 4 times. Either last year or the year before the pointless Eggheads was shown on a Saturday or Sunday and I assume that was their thurs prog. If so why cant ITT be put on at a different time. They have hours of repeats, so surely one half hour prog cant be a problem. As for the guff about phonelines, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Off to see if last post is true about ITT and Thurs.

In fact this year the National Mod is in Fort William (it goes to a different place every year - think next year it is in Falkirk) and the only coverage is late night on BBC.

Don't mind the Gaelic programmes and Eòrpa, which has been going for a few years, is good - just wish they would show ITT later in the day, even middle of the night so I could tape it. Every other programme missed on Thursdays is shown at a different time.

In my TV Guide it says that it's pushed back to 5:15pm. Hope that this is true.

Thanks for the tip off re Wednesday as I missed that when checking the tv guide. BBC2 Scotland showing it at 5:15 and one hour of Mod highlights on Thursday so no change there.
