.. that the results show is live on Sunday.

I already knew from posts on this forum that the results show was recorded on Saturday. During the "It Takes Two" programme this was quite obvious (Brian and Karen being depressed on Sunday, Len flying to the US on Sunday).

I can understand why the results show is recorded after the main show on Saturday. The only reasons I can think of for the BBC not showing the results on Saturday are either, they are too incompetent to put together another live show (assuming that Saturday's show was live ..) or, that they think they'll get more ratings by stringing out the show over 2 days.

What is more likely to happen is that the result will inevitably leak, as you can't expect everyone in the audience to keep quiet.

So, dear BBC, please either move the results back to Saturday, where they belong, film the results show on Sunday, or, at the very least, STOP LYING!!!

GrrrrrrRRRRRR

ooh afterthought, perhaps I should contact OFCOM about the BBC misleading the public again - then something might happen!

What would you prefer - for them to show the results live on Saturday or to move the recording of the results to Sunday?

Well it's nothing new. Friday Night with JR isn't live on a Friday for example even though they pretend it is.

I think part of the problem is that the Sunday night results show was considered to be too late for SCD's family audience as well as the fact they wanted something to get ratings on Sunday.

I hate the way it leaks too. It's hard for everyone to know what they should or shouldn't sa incase it gives anyhting away.

I feel that part of the magic is lost when you know it's not live

.

Why not broadcast on Saturday, then repeat at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning? It works very well for Match of the Day and all the young football fans.

I hate the pretence, and the way it was leaked too, because I just had to read the spoilers thread on here, but at the same time, it was nice to have something to watch on a Sunday night for once, normally I don't even bother to put the telly on.

If they're going to continue showing the extended results programme on a Sunday, they could at least quit the pretence. There is just no need for it.

No idea.

Probably because that would be common sense and still wouldn't solve their problem of what to show Sunday evening.

I'm surprised to be honest they don't have a proper repeat of the show again this year. I think you can see the XFactor about 3 different times over the week.

Haha, yeah, it really is insulting our intelligence - pretending it's filmed on a different night

I personally think it's better on seperate nights as we get to see more footage, but it should be live.
If they can't manage it broadcasted live both nights, then they should have just let it be.

No "seemed" about it, even Len directly referenced travelling to the States on Sunday, with several direct references to being voted out on Saturday.

So, the main results programme pretends, whilst ITT tells the truth.

Did they say 'Live from London' at the start of Sunday's show or just 'From London'? Because if it's the former, the BBC'd be in serious trouble.

Yes that's true and did you see the look on Claudia's face ? She had to shut poor Len up !!

Also normally Claudia always mentions forums...only once tonight ?

Yes but pretence aside, they kinda have to say "last night" for the sake of the viewers at home as it would have been "last night" as far as we're concerned when we watched them dance etc. It would be a bit weird if they kept saying "earlier on"....

Like someone said earlier Jonathan Ross, also Have I got news, Parky, (Top of the pops back in the day!), lots of shows go out as live having been pre-recorded. And they all try to "pretend" as you call it that its the night the viewers at home are watching it as. It's not to do one over on the viewers it just makes more sense! Course with Wossy there are some slip ups but its just laughed about. Is it really that bad?!

It can also count as live if the show was recorded as live I think, you know without editing etc

I agree - Sunday nights for me it is just Cornation Street then that's it - it was a treat to see it on last night for all its faults
