We keep getting withheld calls from this girl i know and she wont leave us alone, she keeps ringing asking for me and i dont want to talk to her and you tell her that and she still carries on. She always calls as withheld. Is there any way to make it stop?

If your with BT you can use a service called Choose to Refuse to reject calls from numbers you pick, its 3.35 a month but you should only need it for a few months. Once its active after a call you just dial a number and press a button and it blocks the last caller from calling you.

Also you can get ACR which blocks all withheld numbers.

If I don't see a number or know the number,I don't pick up the receiver.

Saves me having to talk to people I don't wish to speak to.

If you register at a certain company (PM and I will tell you) and get yourself a 0844 number, set your home number on the site so when you dial 0844 it goes to your home number.
give the withheld person your new number (0844) but do not answer the call. (you can answer too)
You will receive an email with the real number of the person that was calling. this works with all numbers from withheld, switchboards, call centers and international, so no matter how hidden their number you will always know who called you.

if you want to test it for yourself, pm me i will give you a test number, you can dial it and see its worth...and its free to use, setup and everything.

I took up the 'challenge' and a01020304 to9ld me my phone number - even though I prefixed the call with 141.

Now that's impressive!

This is interesting, the company I use for my 08708 number removes the last 3 digits for data protection reasons - I wonder how this other company gets around that legal issue?
