HD Cabling/XBox 360
Hello all,
I've just bought a cooling unit for my 360 and it fits nicely on the back of the unit...but it slots into the large port (tv out thing?) only leaving the coloured component ports. Is there a cable that has components on each end to connect to a HD TV or would a HDMI-Component only suffice? Thanks SG |

Those "cooling" units do no such thing
![]() Take it off your 360 and return it, then come back here and promise not to be such a mug in future ![]() -Chris |

There have been numerous reports of them actually catching fire themselves
and I'm sure I've read somewhere that they actually bugger up the airflow through the console. If your 'box still RRoD's and Microsoft find out that you've had a cooler unit on, they can refuse to fix it. I just make sure that my xbox has plenty of airflow around it and it gets a vacuum every few weeks to ensure there's no buildup of dust. And if it does RRoD, then I've still got 2 years left for MS to fix it (I can live without it for a couple of weeks).

Cooling fan units are completely unnecessary for the 360 and can actually cause overheating if not fitting exactly in the right position. All that is required is sufficient ventilation room around the console.

For £11 they cant do any harm can they? A bit of extra cooling to the fragile 360.
You don't want the 3 rings of death. The console needs space to breathe and let the 'brick' breathe too (the grey power box that looks like an erm, brick) |
