DOs and DON'Ts for Managers and Agents

Are you a manager or PR Agent for one of our Celebs? We've written a handy list of DOs and DONT's for you.

DOs.
1) Do read this forum - it gives you a good insight into how the public feel. If you are not already reading this forum then you are not very good at your job.

2) Do consider setting up the equivalent of the CarolCam. It was fabulous last year and I'm still laughing at the Girls Aloud practice.

3) Do remind your client that nobody likes a moaner.

4) If you represent Kelly, do remind her that pants are underwear not outerwear.

5) Do get involved with costume choice. If you represent Letitia, get in there quick before they dress her in another big block of day-glow.

DON'Ts
1) Don't flood the papers with "It's so hard / I'm too beautiful / I'm having an affair with my partner" stories. We don't like them.

2) Don't let their children come on each show. Once is enough. Dogs, however, are good (and we haven't had one since Fudge).

3) If you also represent Westlife, don't let them anywhere near the ITT studio.

4) When your client is knocked out, don't fill the following day's papers with how much they hated their partner.

Any more?

Am LMAO at that!

If they take notice of that they shouldn't go far wrong.

* Look like their enjoying it

* Don't be over competitive, it's off putting ( yes Gabby I mean you)

* If you're part of a hubby and wife team, don't overplay it, it's annoying.

I`am a guy, so I will gladly put myself forward to defend Kelly`s honour.. My first task will be to sack her agent as even I am sick to death of her appearing on a daily basis in the Red Tops. It all looks just a little desperate and makes me think her appearance on SCD is merely a publicity stunt........an ends to a means if you like. I would really like her to do well on the show and to be honest I think she will...... but if she wants to endear herself to the female voter she needs to ensure her agent stops all these sob stories appearing in the press.

Don't let your client's Nan come on the show or be interviewed ad nauseum or be filmed at the over-60's club while 'comically' campaigning for votes - thank you.

If you represent Letitia take careful note of the OP's advice.

DON'T let your celeb go on and on about any injuries or illnesses they suffer in an effort to gain sympathy votes - it's just annoying. Much as Claire King's behaviour after SCD annoyed me, I still really respect the fact that she didn't talk about her arthritis for quite some time, and did her best not to let it affect how the public viewed her.

DO get them to appear on ITT as often as they are able to, as it gives the audience more of a chance to see what they are really like, watch them having fun and joining in with the spirit of the show, and makes us care more about them as the weeks go on.

If you represent Mark Ramprakash, get him signed up pronto for the xmas special. And ITT. And Strictly itself, as often as possible.

Whaddayamean, he was on last year??? Who cares! Be devious...invent a twin cricketing brother and get him to have another shot next year with Karen!

Don't like everyone behaving to a formula. What make these competitions fun and enjoyable is everyones individuality. Let them be themselves and moan and make dressing mistakes.

Great thread! Expanding it a little.....

1. If you represent any of the Judges, in particular CRH, AP or BT, plead with them not to be so bloody annoying all the time. I know that's a tough one.

2. For Tess's Agent, ....where to start?
Please just ask her to do better, and try a bit harder.

3. To the Scriptwriter's relatives, agents or managers - Please pass this on. Don't give Brucie such crap jokes, you're making him look a fool, SCD is top notch high quality entertainment, not Butlins 1957. Okay?

what about

If your (non-participating) client is invited on to ITT, please ensure that they have been well briefed on :-

a. which dances were performed on the show last weekend
b . which celeb was voted off that show
c. be aware of the identities of the contestants and be able to talk about their favourite
d. show a modicum of interest in the main programme
e. not talk about themselves/ their show/ book/ record/ fashion collection (complete as appropriate) all plugging of the product does is alienate several million viewers who will then rip your client to pieces on message boards like this,

If you are the manager of ANY of the lady celebs, please ensure that your clients outfits actually suit their colouring/ personality/ body shape. (Letitia is a big girl and she would have suited a frock like Stephanie's far better than that dayglo pink micro mini thing she was almost wearing!)

If you represent the contestants remind them that in career terms winning doesn't mean a damn, coming out of it as likable, hardworking, and respectful of their partner does. Several of the previous contestants - eg Aled, James Martin, Julian Clary - have arguably done better out of it than people who scored higher. For example, long term Gethin would be better off falling over on TV every week than losing his temper with Camilla once. Mostly I think it is a little easier for the men to seem 'nice' than the women.

If you represent the judges, get them some sort of protective headgear, because if they thought people didn't like them in the past, they aint seen nothing yet...

And if you work for the BBC, was the idea that it should be put on in the 'Last of the Summer Wine' slot originally one of Bruce's better jokes?

Fern --- Absolutely brilliant thread

Although, from some of the comments posted I get the feeling that some people would prefer the celebs to be seen and not heard!

Maybe we should start a "More pros, less celebs thread" lol

Totally agree with everything there, and brilliant thread

I would also add to 2. - tell Tess to STOP POINTING IN PEOPLE'S FACES!!! It's so flippin' annoying

DO:- encourage your non-dancing celeb clients on to ITT if the are GENUINE SCD FANS (and are funny - like Marian Keyes and that welsh bloke who looks like Anton )

DOOOOON'T:- encourage your non-dancing celeb clients on to ITT if they are just going to shamelessly plug and have only watched one programme!

Rob Brydon.

Can I add Pauline Quirke to the list of non-dancing celebs who genuinely love the show?

Please provide various lines for use in replacement of 'This is best experience of my life'

Please do ask Gabby to stop talking to Kenny in a patronising fashion. Yes, you are very likely to be better than him so think about what you say and how you say it.

Agree with the Letitia line. She is going to need you on her side in wardrobe with those skimpy others in the competition. She is lovely and fully deserves to be dressed to look classic and beautiful not like a sl*****.
