The BBC have now put an explanation of why they made the changes on the SCD message board. It is more or less the same standard response they have sent to all those who've complained to them.

Come on guys. Although they never said, it was blantantly obvious that the 2nd show was prerecorded. If you think about it logically, why would the vote close at 9pm on a Saturday if it really was live on a Sunday - they could have virtually another 24 hours of voting revenue. Also, why would they pay all the presenters, crew, and dancers for two days work when it could all be filmed in one.

I'm just wondering if a mass protest to OFCOM would give us any joy

You'll probably find that OFCOM will say its outside their remit and a matter for the BBC.

Well the Beeb are guilty of disrepecting their viewers and complete arrogance I just wonder if there is anything we could do

The only thing we can do is complain directly to the BBC, though whether they will listen or not to our views is debatable.

However, the BBC's own SCD message boards are gradually becoming filled with posts regarding how the new format is not working and that it should be changed back, so maybe they'll listen more to that.

Wouldn't hold your breath though.

Shouldn't the voice-over say something like: "recorded in front of a live audience". Then Bruce and Tessa can say what they like.

I'm sure that's the phrase used on a lot of US comedy tv shows.
