Didn't Brucie host a US gameshow once? Maybe he could host Dancing with the Stars.

It was 20 odd years ago he presetned a game show in the US. He must have been popular there at the time. SHould he present Dancing with the Stars?

No. The US version is much too polished and they don't know or understand him like we do!

I'd rather Tom hosted SCD.

Here it is. He presented a show call Bruce Forsyth's Hot Streak which was shown on ABC (the network that shows Dancing with the Stars) during early 1986.

he tried to get the DWS job but was turned down

I don't think his body would take all that flying - 11 hours twice a week & the jet lag . Come on he is nearly 80.
Len imo got grumpy & harsh last year toward the end of the series when he was obviously tired & he's only 65!
Would you want your Dad at 80 doing two stressful jobs & flying backward & forward over the atlantic? I would n't want my Dad doing it now, he's fit too & only 70 but I'd be worrying myself sick about DVT's, strokes etc.

Americans are not that bl**dy stupid! Sorry (honestly) if you are a fan of his but I'm not and never have been. Don't care what age he is --it's time he retired.

Bendymixer --- do you mean Bruce actually wanted to do DWTS? He struggles to read the cue cards on this side of the pond how would he cope with it over there?

I think it's an excellent idea. They can have Bruce and we can have their lovely presenter. Fabulous.

American audiences wouldn't have a clue what he's on about. Alas, the Brit viewers struggle sometimes.

Brucie did try to move to the States with the aid of Sammy Davis Junior. His show was a complete disaster. The Americans hated it and he almost went bankrupt as he funded the whole lot himself.

It took him several years to re-build back in Blighty.

Brucie belongs here but is way past his sell by date. He is loosing his memory and fluffing his lines. He should hang up his shoes and hand over to Anton who would make the perfect host...wit, charm, good looks and youth.

Thanks for 50 wonderful years Bruce but RIP while you can.

Be careful what you say, I got a 48 hour ban this week for making jokes about his age.

I watched DWTS on UK Gold last night and I saw Marie Osmond collasping after her dance.

If Bruce did host the US show, I guess he may have the same.

Brucie (bless him) fluffs his lines on Strictly as it is. Imagine if the poor devil was jet lagged!

Let's not inflict him on the Americans!

On a serious note I actually thought he was a lot funnier tonight!

I think he's too British for the US show.

He is, the Americans hate him. He vowed never to try and break into the States again after his last attempt.

really OMG that's harsh

Anyway respect to Brucie, but I can imagine him doing a "nice to see you, to see you ....... " to an audience of baffled yanks !

As for the fluffed lines, well there are books full of George Bush's words. Things like 'american's work hard to put food on their families' etc etc etc. They would likely see Brucie as a perfect professional (as he is!)

Now Len is taking a break from DWTS, There maybe no chance that we would see Brucie going to America.

I wouldn't exactly describe the compere of Dancing with the Stars as polished. However anyone would be better than Bruce Forsyth.
